I agree we should at least temporarily keep all four and said as much in another post. I think the root of the 'trade an OF' groundswell is they all make a ton of dough. Going forward, we should reach a point where we acquire or develop a 4th OF worthy of the playing time while generating a substantial payroll savings thus satisfying the Guggengods. We all know that at some point payroll is going to get rolled back to a somewhat believable ceiling, though it may still be a few years in the future. Eventually that day will come and hopefully the farm will be ready for it.
I like that Groucho is a b x w smiley: He was b x w in 30's-40's cinema and 50's tv. :blueplatespecial:
I get the feeling that "the farm being ready" is a prerequisite to the Guggs scaling back on payroll. So we don't have to hope.
I love how all these guys keep thinking what we should be doing and how we can be used to help out there team. They need to realize that Guggenheim isn't in the mindset to cut back on payroll at the risk of losing games. With all our injuries I don't see why they would risk giving up the wrong outfielder. Unless the deal helped us in the short run. If Pederson was ready maybe but until then or we have a streak of 4 healthy outfielders I don't see it. If Dre went we would need a younger major league ready outfielder to replace him on the roster. No Juan Rivers and SVS is a solid 4th but not sure he is ready for everyday in the event of injury to a starter.
