Have you guys seen this guys stats? He's KILLING it. Hitting .440 something with 5 bombs, reminds me of a certain Cuban who gave our offense a spark last season? We need to at least give him a look in the bigs when he is this hot. Who do we send down? I know SVS is the obvious choice but dare I say Matt Kemp or Crawford gets one of their mystery "injuries" since they're hitting so poorly until we can see what Joc can do? Worth a look IMHO. from CBS Sports: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on...ospect-watch-joc-pederson-dominating-triple-a
the real question is if when he gets called is not Jerry Sands 2.0. Sure he's crushing it, but so is Miguel Olivo, Guerrero and some journeyman 1B they are playing. Dont forget this is Albuquerque, a hitting paradise... the more interesting part is Lee, who has a below 2.00 ERA IN ALBUQUERQUE!
^ Difference is Joc has the tools. He is a top 50 prospect The L v L split isnt promising but that seems to be the only flaw. Career .257/.361/.345 Other than that, he can hit for average, power, run and field his position well. Dudes a gamer
no, now it's fixed. Ethier's garbage ass gets no pass. only guys who get passes are Kemp ( had no spring training), AGon, Dee, and Uribe. everybody else is ass. Hanley took one off the hand not long ago, so i understand on his part, but fuck him too for not being more patient. Puig is coming around, but to be fair he saves runs every night with his arm. Ethier and Crawford need to be off my team..League too. it's time for Kemp to move to LF and for Joc to take over CF
just frustrating last year we had 109 errors all season at our current pace, we accomplish that feat in less than 100 games and for the people saying it's still early, i say it's never too early to start playing well errors will ultimately cost you games, no matter how many runs you score and for a team struggling offensively, it's (obviously) even worse
I would think after reading this thread and the catching thread, Joc is your trade bait for a decent catcher. I know dodger fans here have other names they want to see traded away but even if you eat salary, I just don't see any of those names bringing back anything close to "talent" behind the plate. Mediocre, injury prone outfielders and shitty pitchers are just too easy to find.
well I'd like to say F_Youk, and despite disagreeing about letting Joc go, I think that the rest of your comment is spot on
Put joc in. Even if he barely hits his weight it's not going to be that much worse than the ethier crawford combo he is replacing. But the effect on the defense allowing Kemp to shore up lf and relieving some stress on him covering for a bad c.f. or having to play c.f.himself combined with another young athletic defender with speed in c.f. and the basepaths would overcome the possible hitting issues from young joc. Andre and Carl can hire personal trainers to get them to succeed in the declining years to get jobs back or be sorta attractive trade bait for desperates. In meantime pinch hitters.
