So are we going to see the full starting lineup on Wednesday to go with all of the scrub pitchers? Although I wouldn't mind seeing Seager play.
Dodgers Lineup tomorrow is: SS Rollins LF Crawford 1B Gonzalez 2B Kendrick C Grandal CF Ethier 3B Uribe DH Pederson RF Heisey as for some reason Ethier is playing CF with Heisey and Joc in the same lineup.
maybe RF, but Heisey is there. Donny probably sticking it to Dre. Dre says he shouldn't be playing CF, first game, Donny puts him in CF.
Heisey's just filling in for a regular in spot duty..what he's done his whole career as a 4th/5th outfielder. Ethier has ZERO chance to win RF, so it wouldn't even make sense to have him there. They're not doing the whole " Puig in CF " thing again. Now, Ethier says he wants to win a corner OF spot, but also says that he needs more than 300 ABs to produce " like old ". Well, SVS and CC have proven that they don't need more than 300 ABs to produce up to standard, so LF is gonna be theirs and Ethier gets to go against the rookie in CF. That's Ethier's best shot..it's not a good shot, but it's his best shot. Looks like he gets the 1st crack at it..as a veteran you'd expect that.
the lineup looks about right..Puig would probably be in the 3-hole moving everyone down a slot from there. Kendrick should be right where he is
fucken' 1 month of Octavio Dotel. Trade absolutely made no sense at the time because the Dodgers weren't going anywhere.
Mattingly to Shuffle Outfielders this Spring by Russell Valenzuela | Dodgers Nation — March 03, 2015 After an offseason roster transformation, the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to begin their Cactus League Schedule Wednesday by playing their Camelback Ranch co-tenants, the Chicago White Sox. The new-look Dodgers traded away Matt Kemp during December’s Winter Meetings in order to clear an outfield logjam. However, another one still exists with six outfielders looking for roles. According to Bill Plunkett of the OC Register, manager Don Mattingly addressed how he would rotate among his outfielders throughout the next couple of weeks: With Carl Crawford and Yasiel Puig in left and right respectively, Ethier finds himself trying to find a spot in the outfield. When the Dodgers play Wednesday, he will start in center. Ethier discussed his role as Spring Training began and wasn’t sold on center field is the right place for him. Ethier was the odd man out last season with Crawford, Puig, and Kemp eventually becoming the regular outfield alignment. When he got playing time, it was primarily because of injury or to fill in when someone needed rest. While Ethier was used throughout the outfield, most of his appearances and starts came in center field. As for Puig, he finished the 2014 season anchoring the defense in center after Kemp was placed in right field. With Kemp now gone, the belief was Puig would return as the team’s main right fielder. Considering Puig will spend some time playing center during the spring, it’s conceivable the same may hold true during the regular season. Watching how the outfield situation unfolds will be something to keep an eye on as the Dodgers play out their Cactus League schedule.
Or they want Joc to get comfortable at the plate since his defense isn't a concern. Or what the real reason is. The manager has no idea what he is doing.
Considering his 4 year fielding % is like .980. I doubt it's a serious concern. He's a natural CF. And they all need to play if they want to make a fair and accurate judgement on who plays more.
