This is what I tell non dodger fans: "the dude has pitched well against the Braves, he had a win against STL, and pitched 6 innings of great ball in each of his failures. Hanley, Dee and lack of bullpen screwed him over. He hasn't been horrible. Game 6 in 2013 was bad though." But I'm done with telling people that. I'm just gonna check the bottom line and it sucks. One way or the other he doesn't get it done. Would it be cool if the offense scored, he handed the ball to a decent pen and we go home happy? Sure. But he didn't. Lackey did. Degrom did. Bumgarner is superhuman when it matters most. Sorry, it's not all narrative anymore. I'm done with defending his ass. He's going to the HOF. Cool. Idgaf if he doesn't do Bumgarner, Hershiser, Hamels, Koufax type things in Oct. Anyways, I love you IBB. Enough with Kershaw. Lol.
That's the main point. Who cares? Who cares if he's the greatest pitcher who's ever lived if we never win once? I loved him winning awards but I legitimately no longer care. I don't care if Arrieta wins it this year. Just win fucking once. When Duke won (who I love but not nearly as much as the Dodgers) it just calms you down for years. You realize you can't win every year. I just want one.
Any good/great relief pitchers that are free agents this off-season??? Maybe the FO will trade for one. The bullpen is a big weakness for the 3rd straight year.
