Sometimes I do wish we had a smaller more intimate feeling stadium..... but cmon Dodger Stadium is beautiful and legendary Just fucking hate those ad's on the outfield wall but oh well everybody does it now
he still isn't squaring pitches up hit a couple flares and fouled off some hittable pitches and still bitching at umpires instead of looking in the mirror
doesn't matter it'll be half empty regardless especially behind home plate where all the wealthy, self-important douches buy season tickets and then don't show up to support their team season ticket holders should be required to go to 90% of the games or they forfeit their spots fucken ostentatious parasites but the guggenheim whores couldn't care less, as long the $$$ is rolling in
The stuff with the umpires bugs the shit out of me. It's like he's looking for an excuse for his ineptitude.
I agree. I love Dodger Stadium. It's truly beautiful and legendary like you said. It would break my heart to see it gone. There is virtually nothing wrong with Dodger Stadium other than the capcity, imo. And ingress-egress but that doesn't bother me as much. The empty seats are just so visible though. It's not fair that the Giants, Red Sox, Cubs, Pirates and other teams get notoriety for their crowds when we have more fans in the park! But people think ours is empty even when we have over 40k there! That's why I said replica. Same location, same multi-colored seats, same wavy roofs, same 60s archetecture, palm trees, blue walls, hexagon scoreboards, etc. The same exact stadium with 43-45 thousand seats instead of 56. More suites and modern amenities. The aesthetics and location all the same.
And yeah, the outfield wall is brutal. So damn ugly. Not every team does it. Other teams may have corporate sponsors on the wall, but they don't look like a row of billboards. They are integrated into the wall with a transparent background. I actually don't mind the advertisements they have Above The Pavilions and bullpens in the hexagon shape. It looks organic and integrated. It doesn't look so commercial and minor league.
I remember in 2009 during the NLDS against the Cards, the right field bleachers weren't full in game 1. In the Lorretta game, the reserve level had a huge chunk empty by the foul poles. Just too many damn seats. And that's the playoffs! Imagine Tuesday nights!
FWIW, when they did the renovations a few years ago the capacity to reduce from 56 to about 53K.... still about 5K too much Yeah it's so fucking bad on the walls Yeah the one's by the scoreboards actually look kinda cool
