I highly doubt Scotland goes anywhere, and Ireland, there really isn't a chance in heaven or hell those two sides get back together
Its peaceful now but talking to those boys during their 100 year independence this year its still a deep divide
My thought on why the insistance that islam be spread all over the world by the political elite is simple
Population control as the masses kill each other and the elites sit protected in their ivory towers
IF terrorists were murdering politicians you would see much more concern for their migration and vetting
This particular religion and people just do not operate well amongst the free
Feeling safe in our own towns is absolutely what this movement is about
And its completely sane for people to want their government to protect them
In fact its the number one job

Here's another view: Countries have to accept immigrants because rich people in developed counties don't reproduce, and you wind up with aging populations that don't work and don't renew. You need the young immigrants that reproduce at a higher rate to keep your population young/stable and to work and fund all the social safety nets that western countries insist upon.

We actually still make stuff here. Manufacturing output has been steadily rising over the last 30 years, and is still the largest single segment of the US economy. But to your point, there are fewer and fewer jobs associated with manufacturing.
That ship has sailed, never gonna be good, middle class manufacturing jobs again. Just like automation moved people out of farms in the 19th and early 20th century (even though agricultural output skyrocketed), automation and globalization have moved the jobs out of manufacturing. Society will adapt. Sometimes it takes a generation or two though. People will move to service or technology jobs.
And there's always going to be a need for unskilled labor that immigrants are usually the only ones willing to do. Dishwashers, gardeners, maids, construction hands, etc.

well i have to disagree that we couldn't have more manufacturing jobs if we had reasonable trade agreements and reasonable regulation since everything within your eyesight has to be made by someone.
and globalization is an option implemented by the political elite in their new world order, not some natural process
even if those jobs can never come back as you say then why is imperative that free countries import people who will never assimilate and hate our freedom?
its not like people from latin countries other than mexico really get to come here
in fact they are prevented and are often far better educated
why can't we open up migration from central and south america instead of reaching out to africa and the middle east?
immigration is important but this is literally suicide

    All immigration is suicide.
    And it is natural.
Go back as far as you can in history.

Molestation is a catholic thing not a church thing.
Catholicism isnt church its The Church. Its the antithesis of church.
Its a governing body that says that it is at the top and eveything else is under it and under its authority.

    Cataclysm.
    Catastrophe.
    Catachresis.
    Catamite.

    totally different
i may look around and say gee there sure seems to be a lot of mexicans
but the difference is they are for the most part fun, decent, hard working people same as the rest of us
i don't get a scowl and an arabic cursing under their breath while they keep their women in a bag
i feel bad for the sikhs and hindus who are mistaken by ignorant people who think they are muslims
but i'd be willing to bet i've had as much interaction (extensively personally) and professional as anyone here when it comes to muslims
    I don't like them
call me a racist idgaf but they play by a different set of rules when it comes to character and thats putting it nicely
compound that with 80% of them being ok w sharia law and playing us all for idiots
most here think they are good people
i think israelis are good people and if you ever want to sit and listen to my stories i would love to over a beer
my dislike doesn't begin and end with the fucked up soft target attacks on innocents
its pervasive in the culture and my head is not in the sand
and they think you are a fool believe me

So this is true, but I'm not sure how "good" the jobs would be, and they couldn't support union labor practices and be competitive
Agree about the regulation thing. That's a beast that has taken a life of its own and is an anchor on any business in the US and especially California.
The other thing is that this would impact the cost of goods produced. We've grown used to cheap products, and that's because they're made offshore or with automation where the cost is super low. We won't be getting $400 big screen TVs if we make them here. Everything would get expensive.

I actually think it is natural and inevitable, although right now we're in a stage where it's highly exploitative.
If you think about the history of commerce and civilization, as travel and communication have advanced, so have the interactions and administrative structures.
We used to have city-states, then larger countries. Now we have huge, continent size countries, or unions. As we get closer together with travel and communication we become one.
The problem is right now we're not all playing by the same rules. Slave labor, currency manipulation, varying regulartory environments, etc are all exploited. Eventually the playing field will probably level.

Yeah, it should be easier to immigrate here. That's the regulation thing fucking it all up again.

    Those in need need protection.
Those who offer protection are usually predators.
Like the fox protecting the henhouse and taking a few chicks for himself everyonce in a while.
    Its a good racket.
And why mobsters like the action.

We all curse China and then want cheap TV's from WalMart and Costco. Ludicrous.

Except that it won't. I've traveled, I've seen value systems elsewhere. The Chinese have no clue why we are so picky about safety regulations... because they truly do not care what happens, more Chinese are always waiting. Racist?? Yep. But true.

They laugh about pollution controls while machine operators stand on pallets to avoid leaky water from the machine, smoking a cigarette mere feet away from a painting operation that could send everyone sky high. So? Parts of China are massively polluted. So? Move the factory elsewhere, there's a profit to be made. In many ways they are more capitalistic than we are. They don't have a fat soft liberal underbelly like San Fagcisco to bias their caring about fellow humans.

The problem is as Diablo states, we've demanded crap at crap prices for so long that all we have left is sending more MFG jobs abroad.

You would be mistaken however to believe that the manufacturing base is being rebuilt, that's simply not the case. China alone could shut us down (at their own peril of course) by pulling another Fellows shredder act and seizing all of the Intel/AMD/Apple/Foxconn/Jabil/etc wafer factories and claiming them domestic if our drunken slut DC Congressmen ever fully default on our debt to them. And then no more computer chips for no more computers unless they are Chinese state computers.

    Far fetched? Hardly.
