It occurs to me, that DBB is poised to exact terrible revenge on the LAD, if things go his way this season. But I am confident that he will invariably screw the pooch, as he did repeatedly with the Dodgers. However, the possibility exists...and in recent history, it does appear that some thing, mostly the SFCS, pops up and keeps the ring off the fingers of our players. We'll see...
The 4 possible WC opponents as of today: DBB & the Marlins, The Mets who took us out last year, The Cards who always take us out, or the Pirates who own us. Uhh....let's catch the Giants.
Whatever we can come up with is all right with me...the end result has to be different than so mamy before though. It's really about time. No matter what the Nerds do, no matter how many hacks regurgitate article after article, no matter how mamy squabbles here, if we get into the post (or don't at all), and fail as usual,, then the Nerds will have failed again, too..and what they did, or who they got, was the same shitty resulting futility as always. And "the future" will be the mamtra put front and center by their supporters...as a fail safe, I wonder? If they win, or even get in it, they will do something that this loser organization hasn't been able to do in almost 30 damn years. And then the FO will have a whole bunch of new fans, too.
I think they got rid of the rule where you can't play a divisional opponent in the first round. So if we won the Wild Card game, we would face the Giants in the LDS (if they still have the best record). A best of 5 Dodger-Giant playoff series with the way we've been playing against them...especially in AT&T... would make me die.
He'll probably walk Kiké to face Seager like in '13 when he walked Reed Johnson to face Jason Heyward (who singled in the winning run).
There were some other ones that led to series losses, but that one ranks up near the top for me regardless of the series outcome
True. I just hate 1 game playoffs...we could start Kershaw and he gives up a couple bloop singles with RISP and our season is over.
Could be huge for Kershaw. All though, he probably wouldn't match up with Bumgarner in game 1 if we played a 1 game playoff, but he might be able to in a game 5. How epic would a Kershaw game 5 win over Bumgarner be? Narratives would be destroyed and people would be so confused. Of course if he lost..
yes and no we are looking for a productive outfielder puig is not that, at least not consistently but if he gets hot, flip him for one of our other needs -- an effective starter and/or a pen arm more reliable than baez/hatcher puig is like kemp in one area... he giveth and taketh away for every great throw he'll misplay a fly ball or airmail a cutoff man that's not going to change, at least not here if he goes somewhere else and develops, so be it but if he helps get us someone who can help us now, you have to at least be open to it as far as being contenders we are... for now but a lot depends on... - if we keep winning and in the lead/contention of a wild card spot - if/when joc and/or andre come back - if/when anderson and wood come back - and most importantly, when kersh comes back otherwise, we could be sellers...
Oh yeah Giancarlo is available lmfao. Better chance to get Fernandez and that is remote. Everyone on here seriously thinking Dre is going to get better at 34? That we will even have an answer to that question before the trade deadline? With all his faults and unpredictability we still have a guy with huge speed, great arm albeit sometimes he overly showcases it but MOST importantly a Gold Glove candidate this year to get Rich Hill? Lest we forget that he is 25! Justin Turner at 29 figured it out. Forgot 1 fact, under control until 2017, listen next time to the ovations of the players at the stadium and see if you can hear a difference in the decible level when Yasiel is announced, We are talking Rich Hill guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I second guessed myself when DBB walked Reed Johnson to get to Jason Heyward I mean for a second I thought I didn't even know who Jason Heyward was anymore
Well, our season is already over according to some The way I see it, we'd find out what they're made of right away, " 1 game for your whole season..play like it. " You've got the best starting pitcher in the game on the mound, execute and get some runs across against a lesser pitcher and do it better than the opposition does it against the best in the game..it's really not all that unreasonable. Just sayin, winning the division hasn't amounted to much.
