We are not talking about the past because it's what have you done for me lately world. Winning those titles is impressive but even though they got it done you and we haven't we all get it. Never questioned their winning only responded about how no matter how successful they have been in the past they can make mistakes. It is possible to lose it. Additionally this was never about whose FO is better, it's just simply that they are not perfect. Very simple.

Well Rube, it seems like you are in epic kiss-the- titles mode...
I just have a problem with a 36 year old guy on the DL as our new ace...I guess "elite" has changed like a mofo, man.
    Elite.
    Promises, promises.

    Didn't even notice this...

The Dodgers today acquired right-handed reliever Josh Fields from the Astros in exchange for minor-league first baseman Yordan Alvarez.

Oh, last move was pretty much nothing

Anyways, I'm excited to have a better lineup and hope Hill can pitch soon cause that's two talented players.

I think teams should take a chance at winning it all most season if they have a realistic chance. Heck sometimes even if they dont.
Baseball is funny and it rewards those with hard wrists not limp ones.
And while they are the SF giants they are surely no limp wrists running that org.
You risk big and you win big or you go home... then you come back next yea and risk big again.
Because risking big gives you good mojo.
While playing it safe is like a self pat on the back.
IMO we did something good this deadline. We risked moderately and didnt play it completely safe.
Could we have gone for Sale, Jefress and Braun which would have been a big risk... yes.
It would not be safe, it would not guarantee us a WS, but it would bring incredible mojo.
And sometimes some good mojo is all a talented team needs to all of a sudden play up to the occasion.

Haven't seen that luck since '88 and it could be accurately said they were pretty damned lucky then.

Yes he is but he's a Cuban OF'er which means he has no chance to be anything just by being a Cuban OF'er. :D

I feel confident in saying the Dodgers got the best starting pitcher traded, and a corner OF who might be the best overall player outfielder traded. They didn't get an elite reliever and didn't get a reliable starter. It's not a franchise altering trade deadline but it's pretty damn good with context

Well, Montas is gone...so what we have to deal with is these three guys...so let's all hope they come through and play hard ball for us.
Thete were plenty of elite players out there, but the FO didn't do what they needed to to get them, plain and simple. They went somewhere else. And if Moore sucked, like has been posted here multiple times, why were we in on him then?
    Now it's over.
    So, let's go, Dodgers.

And sadder still is that fact that what the G'Nats have supposedly lost is > the hope we should have had after today. Add lying sacks of shit to the FUCKTARDS stellar resume with scar collecting.

Kinda makes you wanna lock the basement door and open the water valve.....

Mikes stuff was never that good and everyone always knew he was getting by with fooling some guys but wasn't much. Jesse Chavez has looked good in the bullpen, I'll bet he becomes an important part against righties
