Boy, you could see that coming...a great performance turns to mediocre at lightning speed. Wow. Weakness. Looks like physical weakness, as if he's throwing a shotput now. Completely different than the first five.
Maeda will has been and will continue to be a great regular season asset, perhaps even exceeding his contract. But that's all he is.
3rd time through line-up not untypical for a guy without electric stuff. Pen in the play-offs is Maeda's destiny which is good enough for this team.
Yep. A good guy to have for the regular season but the last guy you want on the mound in the playoffs.
Great game by Verlander, whatever the outcome. Holds the best team in baseball to one measly hit/run, and soon will go home and bury his head between Kate's...wherever. Here's to you...
1 earned run in his last 3 starts prior to this one. How quickly some on this board turn on him sheesh. 19 games up to boot. Harsh.
Verlander is over 102 pitches and their pen sucks and we come up and let him get away with 3 pitches against 2 veteran hitters yikes.
You look at his last start in Texas and logically you say he's done but said the same thing about Darvish. That Texas ballpark is the common thread, it's hell to pitch there, I'd even go so far as to say it's worse than Coors especially in the August heat.
First decent pitcher we've played in a while, and he shut us down. We threw out a fairly dud lineup though.
