Arizona's lineup from top to bottom just seems better than ours and their rotation certainly seems deeper than ours at the moment. Facing them in round 1 is starting to look like a nightmare.
Im not sure i agree with that. Last night should have been a win. Stupid plays by Turner/Taylor/Grandal hosed us. Then back in AZ last week. The Rich hill game was crazy....how Hill goes from one out from a no hitter to 3 innings of garbage I don't get, but they still lost that game by one run and were 2 for 11 RISP, should have one that game despite Hill losing his mind. It is the same thing that happened with the pads this weekend. The first game of the double header on Sat was lost because Roberts put in Font....WHO??? Then in the Sunday game he put in Castillo....WHO AGAIN? Could have had those two games if Roberst was not messin around with the team. So you add 4 wins to this team over the last week and no one is losing their shit. Im not worried yet.....
I agree with you 100, but I believe the Diamondbacks are trying to make themselves into our perfect adversary. They want to be the future Giants.
I don't doubt that everyone in MLB is trying to do that. The thing that sucks is Roberts will probably keep playing roulette with this team till at least next week before he starts setting rosters to get everyone back into the mind set of winning. I just hope it is not too late. Fortunately we have games with the Phils/Giants/Pads so hopefully they can screw their heads back on.
I have this belief. If this trial period of mixing and matching and resting and healing and losing statistically meaningless games causes the team to not put it together in time for the stretch run then they would have lost in the playoffs anyway when that big moment came and the team folded like a deck of cards. It is a character thing. Either we have it or we dont. We saw Puig has character. We trying to see if Joc has character now that he is back. Joc may be the missing piece of the puzzle in all honesty. If Joc is back to form then we do not need Granderson or Ethier at all. And it means less Adrian and Logan in the infield as well due to the infielders who have had to cover for Joc. So I am rooting hard for Joc to shit out all that fat in his brain and get lean and mean and start hitting home runs again. Because if what I believe is true really is true then it must be an all for one and one for all type deal for this character/morale/chemistry thing to work. In other words, Joc is part of the team. He is part of the 1. If we are all one than all of us have to be united and going in the same direction. Theres no crying in baseball, everyone has to fucking cheer and stand up for the national anthem. Go cry about your problems to your wife, mistress, barkeep or dealer, at the game all you gotta do is feel the wave.
We are the big rival for everyone in our division. It's always been that way. If you talk to Padre or DBack fans they don't even know about the Dodger/Giant rivalry, so in their minds they are already our biggest adversary.

Yeah that move baffled me. In a one run game you do what ever you can to get the run in scoring position. This whole roberts experimenting crap is annoying the shit out of me. I agree with you that flipping the switch to "winning" is going to be tough. Limping into the playoffs against a hot AZ squad is not anything I want to face. Fortunately they will probably burn Robbie Ray in the play in game with the Rox and then it will be Kershaw vs Greinke for game one.
wild card game? you're presuming we get 6 more wins to even get there that would be winning roughly 1-of-4 the rest of the way we've only won 1 of our last 9 -- including 3 to the pads small sample size notwithstanding, we can't beat anyone right now
