huh, according to Heyman and Sherman, it's Machado for 5 prospects, one of them Diaz. Might have given up a lot but we'll see.

If it is Diaz, May, Robinson, 2 more spects and no money back... I'm gonna be somewhat upset. That is A LOT to give up for a rental.

11:22pm: Heyman tweets that the players in the deal are agreed upon, though there could yet be some medical reviews to be finalized. Notably, he suggests that there are “believed to be” five minor leaguers going to the Orioles, though obviously the quality of those five will vary. It’s still unclear who, outside of Diaz, is going to the Orioles in the deal, but Heyman adds that there’s no cash changing hands in the trade. That won’t yet put Los Angeles over the luxury tax line, however. Machado is owed about $6.45MM through season’s end, and the Dodgers were about $15MM south of the luxury tax line prior to this agreement.
Yes, but if true, the only thing we can hope for is these "Super 'spects" actually turn out to be shit, like a lot of the others we traded.

The FUCKTARDS clearly logged in here and listened to myself and @Bluezoo !! :)

Never assume anything is finite with the Orioles involved.

A couple final things before I hit the sack
    - There is some speculation that the 5 player deal is highlighted by Diaz and much lesser products.
    - I’m wondering if the two different deals being circulated are two separate deals the teams are considering. With medicals, the Dodgers may have backup scenarios.
    - Dustin Nosler just brought up a great point. The Dodgers have 22 prospects that are rule 5 eligible this year. Some being fairly significant... Alvarez, Jackson, Rios, Ruiz and Beaty are all projected MLB’ers. The club could use more of those guys in a deal if they felt they’d lose them for nothing in the offseason.

From Joel Sherman: "The expectation is the Dodgers will send as many as five prospects to the Orioles, highlighted by well-regarded Double-A outfielder Yusniel Diaz. The other prospects were not considered to be near that stature. Baltimore was not expected to send any money to Los Angeles, which is trying to skirt under the $197 million luxury-tax threshold. Machado is owed about $6.5 million the rest of this season."

So, Yusniel plus 4 lesser prospects, isn't that bad. $6.5 doesn't hit the luxury tax too bad.

If that’s the deal, I’ll be completely fine. Sending that many lower end prospects to that system, dooms them to mediocrity. So I’m not worried about anyone coming back to haunt us.

I think they can fit it in because Koehler isn't hitting any incentives and Maeda isn't going to hit a portion of his, but they aren't going to hit that tax at all because they need to reset it so they can go ham this off-season

Meh. Who cares. Lorenzo Cain came to Hader's defense. The tweets were lame but the folks who dig them up for publicity and an opportunity to look virtuous by juxtaposition are 10x worse. Leave the kid alone. If he truly has contempt for people on the basis of the color of their skin, he'll have to explain that to a higher power. He doesn't have to answer to dumbass sports reporters.
