I was literally about to post this. Diaz doing his post this morning, pulling it and then dead silence from all the reporters is a red flag that the teams both had to hunker down and figure some important things out. I said over and over that this could easily fall apart with the O's being involved and it is starting to look that way.

When Bowden cites sources, he is pretty decent. His general opinions and guesses tend to be shit.

I actually disagree. It doesn't happen often but players move positions and have been successful. Arod went from SS to 3b and was an allstar at both. With Seager undergoing TJ it might be wise to move him to 1b to keep the stress off the throwing shoulder. Also at the beginning of the year the O's moved Manny from 3b to SS, so logically he can slide right in there. Leave turner at 3b. Of course if Seager heads to 1st then Bellinger is in CF. Might be wise to move Seager from SS to 2b. Yeah I know he has not played there in the minors or the majors but IMO he could learn, and it would take some stress off the shoulder.

bellinger is the best 1b option by far
    agree w/leaving turner at 3b
    but what about muncy
not pointing this at you, but all of us including myself...
awfully presumptuous of us to be planning machado re-signing when the trade really isn't anywhere closer to happening than day one

I like Bellinger but something tells me that GG eggheads might not like the .240 BA forever even with good OPS #'s. Hit .280 then OK but .240? Nah. Same with Puig.. hitting the ball hard with tons of promise that hasn't been delivered yet. Hitting .260 can be done for someone else as much as I do like his promise.

OTOH both of these guys could be hitting .300 without issue but for certain learning points.

Belli 'might' learn but Puig? That boy's a cabbage head

I guess they'll continue to get creative with the DL and 40 man roster.

However in ALL CASES notice that there is no defense to keeping Logan Forsythe

Super true.....until the signature is put down we got nothing.

I like Muncy, and with the success of Turner and Taylor it is a bit more believable that he could sustain this offense, but if you could line up an INF of Turner/Machado/Seager/Bellinger......sorry Muncy...yer the odd man out. I will say that spelling Turner a bit more next year might be a wise thing. Also Muncy has some OF experience. Also another thing.....the chatter of making the DH universal is getting a bit louder. I hate the idea because it takes the gamesmanship out of the later innings. However it would add another slot that we could move Turner to and put Muncy at 3b.

Paired with Smoltz and it's really bad. I think I actually prefer Harold to Smoltz.

    - Phillips is gonna be on MLB Radio here in a few, but I am not gonna be in the car to listen.

    - Brad Lidge just said that he is hearing that the Dodgers and Phillies basically had "identical" offers for Machado. From the people he has spoken to and by his own judgement, they were all shocked the O's took the Dodgers offer over the Philly one in the first place. This doesn't mean much since Lidge is a bonafide dip shit, but what his sources said is what has me worried and they are telling him that the Phillies are back in this thing.

    "Identical"?
    Wtf can that mean?
And here all the while, I thought they were different teams...and then, people were surprised they took the LA package instead of the Phillies one...why ?
    If they were identical?
