Well when you got leaders like we do and parents like we do the kids and then their parents and even their leaders start to look up to the gladiators, charioteers, and other entertainers in the greater circus as role models. While this is a mark of a society going down the drain the alternative is actually not that much better. Do you really want your kids looking up to Nancy Pelosi or Donald Trump? Maybe LeBron is not so bad after all.
ive heard this all my life then i saw videos of old comedians from before i was born they said the same thing thing is that this time all those things that have been said for ages and ages by chicken littles... chicken littles coming home to roost best look up
This is my issue with the wall. It's a lot of money, and I'm not really sure what it's going to accomplish. People will still come here illegally because they want to live here and the government makes it hard to get through all the rules and paperwork to come here legally. The real question I have is,. "Why isn't it as easy as it used to be...just show up and you're allowed in?" Open immigration isnt really compatible with a welfare state. Can't really have both. Funny that one side wants both, while the other wants neither. Of course, they're both wrong.
Bingo. Even if you conceded that laws and boarders are useless and everyone who gets through are good people, it still doesn't work with a welfare state. It is economic suicide. And that's just the tip (no homo) of the iceberg.
totally disagree similarities with times before, but this is different a show like all in the family wouldn't work today
While All in the Family was written, produced, and starred Hollywood libs, there was humanity in it and anyone could enjoy it. Today's Hollywood would not write those characters the same way. They'd approach a character like Archie with 100% contempt with no redeeming qualities. All in the Family was honest and mirrored real life. Today's Hollywood is trying to create the world in their own image.
nope all that stuff exists now and has for years except that before everything was spoonfed to you by 3 networks now you have to go and look for your own food but the food is out there, its always out there just not for the rabbit that likes his kibble and his water dropper behind the walled cage.
No way Blazing Saddles would fly, either, even though Brooks lampooned everyone (and I mean everyone) in it.
A dogmatist can't adapt from his doctrine of the dog. The faces change but the song remains the same. Sure an astrologer can tell you when the next comet will come and even tell you it's name. But an astronomer will tell you what came in it's tail.
Sure, which ones? It's been a while since I've seen gladiator. The last gladiator type thing I've seen was the Spartacus tv show on stars until Andy Whitfield died. Why do you ask? What I was trying to say is that we are no longer the demographic. What we don't see is still there. It's just not in our world. Well most of ours. The comedy style will be different. The format may change. But the intended audience will get the message. There will always be artists telling power what it does not like to hear. Just like in your day. It's just not your day.
Are they, though? Especially for the cost. People will get through. And all the walls you cited were overcome. Walls also become symbols. Sometimes of pride, sometimes of oppression.
Surely but it's been a while and I'm kinda forgetful. I do remember being in jail. There was all the coffee for Irish cream.
