    im not acting
i told you i do not have experience with catholic cathedrals.
my dad took me once when I was 11 and it was a gloomy place with weird chanting and i remember being weirded out by the whole thing.
dozens of saints in niches all over looking down on you and idols of jesus all beat up bleeding everywhere
it was like a horror movie
then I saw my dad again when I was 17 and during a road trip to mexico we stopped at his nephews house so I could meet my cousin.
he lived at this awesome cathedral in lake Chapala and had recently become a priest there
that was an entirely different experience

see i have no idea what you mean about feeding the monks?
i go to a buddhist buffet run by monks called sweet veggie and they feed me then they sit down and eat too.
when i go to asians house and they take off their shoe I take mine off too
but I dont eat with their chopsticks and ask for a fork.
i understand the difference and i understand why i am taking off my shoes
i dont do it because of a respect thing, i do it because i want to do it
if I did not want to take my shoes off then why would i go to an asians persons house

your take on spirituality is that you will do something you dont believe in or understand out of respect because that is what being spiritual is?
that is why i asked, because everyone i have ever heard say they are spiritual has given me very different answers
i personally cannot understand the reasoning behind that premise
because i think its not like your analogy with the korean house
because you know why you should take off your shoes in a koreans house
you know they do it for religious or cultural reasons that go far beyond simply wanting to go longer between having to vacuum the carpet.
its not simply a matter of respect
you know it would be highly offensive for you to not remove your shoes
it would be a purposeful FU in their face and they may ask you to go outside and remove them
so you know that you are compelled to remove your shoes
    it is an inescapable fact

    i hate going to costco
family members want to go all the fucking time
im like, the point of costco is that you go once in a while
you get all your shit done, you wait in that long ass line
you chat up the cleric for a little bit and pay your dues
while saying hail maries the double off coupons were still in effect
and you get the fuck out of dodge
you dont stick around the courtyard or the parking lot talking shit
you put your baggage away and you get in your car and you go get some innout
but i will go and eat their disgusting cafeteria food
while i wait for the lady costco members to go through the aisles
    and i wont like it
and im not putting on pants for it
    much less socks

    Witness your faith to others?
Showing how you 'get it' is the act of witness? To show that you are 'wit it' so others can have the property of being wit it too?
In other words to be wise to the situation, to know, to dig?

I am not much of a fan of high church, im mostly low church/fantasy type of role playing gamer.
But from what i can see the reasoning behind genuineness and not lip service of "showing" respect is to provide a service to others there so that they can have their feeling of being with it reinforced and to inspire the feeling of being with it in others that may not be feeling with it?
It is important to you because you love the people who are with you who are with it and who feel that you are with it with them and because of the chemistry created by this synergy.

    Sounds like witchcraft to me!

Maybe but your specious 'reasoning' still comes off as bullshit
Now claim again that you don't "get it". Which is it?
BTW learn how to use chopsticks, or remain culturally insensitive...aka rude
Umm huh, Now go ahead and spout off again about "canticles of solomon"
I've toured abroad and traveled to a grand Mosque.. no interest whatsoever in becoming a Muslim ... and I took off my hat. The women covered their shoulders.
    When in Rome...

Rube, I completely enjoy your wild ass rants and bear through your dogmatic Organized Religion loose/twisted interpretations, so go ahead and fess up about which set of ancient fables you DO buhlieve in because until then you're just talking out both sides of your mouth. Like some ignorant fool you do not want to be seen as.

Showing courtesy to other cultures/faiths is simply that.. showing courtesy. Showing respect. Costs you almost nothing.
Travel to Asia and demand black tea and a fork, they'll try to accommodate you... out of courtesy and respect.
Of course you'd be an asshat to do so and they know it.

    So do you.

    Like Charlie.......love Mick Taylor.

Need to throw in a little of young Mick, too. Sympathy solo is chilling.

oh yeah we've been over that and the stones don't have their greatest run without that collaboration imo
i just meant his nonchalant rolling his eyes and acting like he is being put out to be there. Wyman and Charlie always acted like they hated what they were doing lol

It crossed my mind for an instant, but I dismissed it immediately, and gave you mad credit for a well -crafted pun.

Too hard to do.. and I love physics. Not realistic to assess a 'favorite' among Stones albums. Not fair at all.
I LOVE Some Girls and have an epic memory of a Hollywood Blvd hottie in spandex singing along.. Ok too much not allowed in the recall loop..

Upon a more thorough review how can one leave out Begger's Banquet with Symphony for the Devil?? OK the other tracks aren't as stellar but so what?
Let it Bleed is epic opening with Gimme Shelter and closing with You Can't Always Get What You Want with both Honky Tonk and Midnight Rambler in between. Anthems..
Sticky Fingers opens with Brown Sugar and offers Wild Horse and Bitch. Again epics.
I see Exile on Main St as solid music but no real epic songs
Same with Goats Head Soup which is a better album title than any of the songs
It's Only Rock and Roll offers the title song and If You Can't Rock Me both classics but otherwise average I suppose
Black and Blue - OK meh
Some Girls - Again Very Strong with When the Whip Comes Down, Just my Imagination, Far Away Eyes, Some Girls, Respectable, Beast of Burden and Shattered. Hmmm yeah that's going to be hard to top... and it isn't going to be.
Emotional Rescue had the title track and She's So Cold but otherwise meh
Tattoo You offers Start me Up, Little T&A and Waiting on a Friend but that's about all
Under Cover, Dirty Work and Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, Bridges to Babylon were a long stretch of meh
Followed by the entirely forgettable A Bigger Bang and Blue and Lonesome which .. were the efforts of really old men so I don't really count them.

So some 300 words later... Some Girls hands down as #1 then Let It Bleed #2 and Sticky Fingers as #3
I thought at first it was just the fond memories biasing my recall but now I'm onboard with Some Girls although there is still sooooo much great music most off it was decades ago.

as a clearly unabashed stones freak i rank exile slightly ahead because of how pure it was and the fact that moment was cemented w the movie
ladies and gentlemen the rolling stones is one of the best for catching a band at its apex
i love some girls because of its attitude and swagger but mick taylor was gone and the music is good but far from their best
the assessment of its only rock and roll...um thats a great stones record and maybe you didn't hear fingerprint file, time waits for no one, luxury, if you really want to be my friend and short and curlies?
goats head soup? lol. dancing w mr d, coming down again, starfucker, heartbreaker? cmon man
checked out after start me up and so did they apparently
but all those albums you mentioned are kind of equally number 1's for me because it was their most creative period
i actually love black and blue as well memory motel, HEY negrita, crazy mama, hot stuff, melody and fool to cry imo are great stones songs but i know that album gets panned by every critic
lots of cocaine and heroin (with the president) involved in all of the above
