I would say it is pretty much universally agreed that they made the wrong call. Do you hear anyone complaining or protesting that the Yankees acquired him? The FO blew it and it would have been worth it to get him and absorb the 1 month suspension
There's been plenty. Whether we agree with it or not, the Dodgers don't want people like that representing their brand apparently.
So then why did they make a HUGE statement by making that shocking trade for a roider? Talk about blowing up the radar???
Glass doll, err Grandal Not the "Morally correct" choice to rep their brand. I don't get these guys are 100% like Disney but maybe they manage some old money guys from Main Line Philly who they thought might not appreciate paying Chapman? Who knows?
I don't know the meaning behind every move they make, but DV is such a huge topic right now in sports. Taking a pill (knowingly or unknowingly) isn't on the same level as abusing a woman. Not saying you believe that but I don't think we can compare the two.
big time remember the buzz when the meetings started everybody reporting that we had acquired chapman then no announcement a purported problem with the deal surely it would get resolved... right? and then nothing we kept waiting and waiting but nothing the thing that kills me... how could they not know when the red sox reportedly knew? didn't they do their homework? but it's over that said they better figure out a back up plan and quickly
Ohnaaaaaaaa, is it already time to rehash the Chapman episode again? Chase Utley disapproves of the lack of toughness on display here. The backup plan produced not only Montas, but one of the best hitters on the team currently in Trayce. Montas just started his rehab assignment not even a week ago, he's already touching 100-102, let him finish his work and you can all tuck your little nuts and sleep well Lol
Let's keep the subject on brand. The empty seats at Dodger Stadium this season, I believe, is the beginning of a rebellion for an apathetic and/or angry fanbase. I truly believe it. I believe the TV deal is catching up to them. Out of sight, out of mind. The scotch tape and glue roster is not worthy of Los Angeles' attention. Casual fans and die hards alike aren't buying what they're selling...at least at the box office. There is no home field advantage at Dodger Stadium because it's not Dodger Stadium anymore. They've ruined it. Congrats on your new scoreboards. But the food sucks, the organist sucks, the PA sucks, the in stadium hosts make people puke, the foul pole is red now because why not, etc etc. The charm is gone. It's a cavernous building that never gets filled. It's just plastered with advertising. The fans feel it. As far as the Nerds go, I was emphatically on their side until this season. I really did think they were geniuses. But it's a results based business and they've managed to not only take us further away from winning a championship, they have built the most boring team in Dodger history. Which doesn't work in this marketplace. I'm offended to have to watch the players we have.
