that's harsh but it just seems weird to me that a guy that young can be taken down by a mystery strain I wouldn't be adverse to trading him based on his potential conditioning issues and inability to recover
staff w the most HRs given in mlb history and the team w the most ever hit think you'll get your wish
"we went from talking about a Cody bellinger triple crown to talking about whether or not he will win any of the categories" Orel Yup. I do not really care about the triple crown, but it does show how far he's fallen. If it weren't for his defense, he'd be out of the convo for me as far as MVP is concerned. He's not a consistent hitter. He is an excellent player. But not the butter and egg man. His weaknesses are too easy to exploit.
I honestly don’t disagree but it’s crazy that his OPS is still above 1.000. I thought that over the past months it would have dropped below but nope
With Verdugo hurt and Lux struggling, our playoff roster seems to be getting pretty clear with position players. Smith, Russ, Muncy (presumably), Cody, Seager, JT, Joc, Pollock, Beaty, taylor, Enrique, and Freese. Not bad but was hoping Verdugo or Lux would taken over for Enrique.
maybe when we get to October, he will lock back into where he was earlier in the year and put it into another gear in terms of plate discipline, contact, and intent. But precedent says otherwise. I just cannot imagine winning a WS with Cody as our best hitter Corey, who has a longer history pre-injury of being a pure hitter, JT, and Max will have to carry. Then a random guy has to get hot
