not pissed about us not jumping on the opportunity for home field advantage just pissed about giving up 13 runs in two losses against an triple a team a team ranked dead last in ba in all of baseball need to win tomorrow and (at the very least) take 2/3 in san francisco the win totals might mean nothing since we've already clinched but momentum into the postseason could be huge
I agree with your logic and tactics per management. However, I see a team making bumbling amateurish fielding mistakes now, that were a rarity during the regular season. Really stupid baserunning, too. Far from the " getting sharp and tuned up" level we are supposed to be at presently. We've been right here before, multiple times, and have not done what we should have on those occasions. Actually, overboard in the opposite way...alarming... Hope this time is different.
The let down is understandable, clinching a division is emotionally draining. But NOW is the time to get our shit back together.
I agree that giving up the runs to this shitty offense sucks but, yesterday's game was mostly from De Leon sucking. I think he deserved a shot for a playoff audition and he failed, but one guy who might not be relevant in the next month giving up 5 runs is better then the whole team doing so. I'm glad Ross and the rest of the relievers looked great, and Adrian/Joc/Utley showed pop
I don't think any NL playoff team is feeling great about their play at the moment to be honest. The Nationals have played bad against the DBacks and are getting very bad injuries. The Cubs have had a let down week and Arrieta looked shitty. The Giants/Cardinals look horrible. The Mets have played well I guess, against shitty teams The most important thing right now is just getting some good at bats, staying healthy, and players auditioning for the playoff spots
First two games definitely have sucked, but I wouldn't look too much into it. It's all been one guy basically beating the shit out of us and last night they're on balls where you have to just throw your hands up and say "what the fuck!?". Hit a ball at his eyes over 2B and the HR was out of the zone down and in. Not something a righty will usually park. That's likely more of a product of the team not catching up yet with the scouting report for a prospect with plus-plus power. Worst part is they should have been out of the first with no damage done. The error is a ball that AGon gets 99 out of 100, but looked slow as fuck on(he is sick). Then the team had the shift on Solarte, but for some reason still had Turner and Seager on the left side. So a routine double play ball snuck into CF. Also didn't help that our starter was not sharp for the second night in a row.
We face at least 3 lefty starters in the next 4 games. That's good for Puig to get at bats, bad for Ethier/Toles
Nats beat the Bags so time to give up on the home field for the division series now eliminating the Gnats are my biggest priority.
