Urena fucking sucked tonight and the Rox were all over him. Was downtown showing property and thought about going, but just totally spaced that idea until I was almost all the way home already. Glad I didn't since the weather is shit and the main reason I like to go is to see Stanton hit massive bombs, but all he has done so far is go 0-8 in the damn series.
i'd prefer whoever plays arizona to beat them but i'd also prefer that not be colorado hate that stadium
I know homefield in the WS doesn't mean too much since we have to get there first, but I would feel pretty bad if we end up with the 2nd best record in baseball after the season we were having. Looks like we should get it after yesterday.
Yeah, I will be rooting hard for their WC opponent in the 1 game playoff. Colorado/Milwaukee could very well kick our ass but Arizona looks a lot scarier than both those clubs on paper in my opinion. However, if we were to beat Arizona, it would be the most satisfying postseason win in quite some time imo
If I had it my way, we'd face nothing but middle schools in route to the WS. The easier, the better...no cheap wins in my books. Lol
Pretty much my thoughts. Our path to the WS isn't going to be a cakewalk, so we should not overthink it and just expect to play the best. Truth is, if we play like we did a month ago then anyone from the Brewers to the Padres will send us packing in a hurry. If we play like we did two months ago then even the '27 Yankees couldn't stop us.
agreed for the most part but the best of 5 series is the one that scares me most -- regardless of who we play whichever team loses game 1 is in an immediate hole
I think baseball is going to have to consider moving to a 7 game first round series here soon. The shortened round doesn't give much leeway for just one of "those" games where a team gets a couple breaks and doesn't reward a complete team as much as 7 game does. A team with 1 great pitcher and merely 1 ok start somewhere else can win a series and that is not how things should work after a 162 game season. Have the season end on Sunday, Monday is open for potential play in, WC's Tuesday, 2 series Wednesday and 2 series Thursday, 2-3-2 with no off day between the 3-2 as to further reward the team with HFA.
Does anybody know where we would stand with a tie with the Astros? All this talk about the Indians and now the Astros are right back in it.... at least they've got 4 with the BoSox.
And @ Fenway too. In that scenario I don't know how they'd break the tie Interleague record or some crazy shit?
Ohhhh, I think you are correct and we fucking owned that. I guess the magic number is still 2 in that regard then.
5 game series only in the first round involving the winner of the wild card and the team they face. The penalties and advantages of a 5 win series are limited to the bubble teams who barely make the playoffs.
