At least i didn't compare him to bernie sanders. AOC can be his Plato. As far as jesus... i dont bundle him with anyone but use him to compare against everyone else. The bible is pretty negative on the Greek philosophy that dominated Rome. It had become adopted by the Jews themselves. Its why Jesus showed them to chill with revolution. It was far too late. The Jews had already been seduced by the fine arguments of the socratic method. Does your philosophy undermine the foundation of anyone who hears it or does it work to edify the spirit as loving wisdom is supposed to do?
I love this post. I don't really agree with all of it: The money changers would tell you Jesus did some rebelling; and Socrates was fighting against a state that said it was the moral authority. But it was brilliant nonetheless. Especially the "I know nothing" is sophistry. Because it is.
I could manifest you into agreeing with me if I didn't have to go to USC get a cast on this hand today.
Socrates knew more. He knew he knew more. He revelled in it and fucked with everyone. Came to the realization that he was too just/good/smart for the people of his world. He would put a purity test on everyone he met to see how smart they were only to show them how truly ignorant they were. His lack of fear of death was from the arrogant position that he had no peers. He also had nothing to lose in a variety of social ways due to his lifestyle. And he wanted to stick it to the rulers one last time with his death. The ultimate fuck you to society would be to have them kill him simply because he made them all hate him. They had to fuck with the letter of the rules in order to convict him in the same way that he fucked with the letter of the rules. He also was sure that the spirit he said spoke to him assured him that he would not die because the just could not be harmed. And that he would pass into the spirit world where he would get his just reward. So was he an atheist as the courts claimed because he did not follow the state gods or was he possessed by a demon or was he a prophet? Maybe he was a prophet, but not all prophets are of god. Socrates did follow the Delphic oracles so that is your answer. Sure he made some decent points and wrote some good songs... but so did Charles Manson.
Of course we are talking about love. You dont love your dad your mom your dog your brother your coach because they are sexy. You dont love them because they make you feel good emotionally. You dont love them because they are necessarily all that great people. You love them because they are yours, you choose them. You love them because they were given to you. You love them because they are there. So you give them your mind, your soul, your heart... aka your time, your presence, and your attention.
lol bobby goldsboro great sub-ref saw something on him a while back and thought, "who the fuck does he look like?" couldn't figure it out until just now... Honey likes this.
Evidently they think leaving Oakland is more exciting than arriving in Vegas. Or that RAIDER fans having to wait 7 weeks after week 1 to see their team again is unfair ( duh) and this is a way to make up for that. Either way it's probably going to be the most entertaining Hard Knocks ever with Chucky and Mayock, Brown and Burfict, Carr and Incognito. This team is playing outside of the US 3 times next season including a preseason game in Winnipeg VS the Packers. Smh Way too much shit going on
Sounds like Johnathan Abram could steal the show on Hard Knocks. Already starting @ safety and potentially in line to be named one of the team captains as a rookie. Rare stuff. Can see why Belichick was targeting him. Mature, young tone setter at the 2nd/3rd level of the D
Brett Favre hinting at a return..@ 49 years old? Lol Derek Carr better watch his back for sure, now. Chucky loves an old vet QB, one of Favre's original coaches in Green Bay, and Vegas obviously loves a show. Favre leading the RAIDERS into Vegas would have a shot at being the biggest sports story of all time
Pernell Whitaker, a longtime pound-for-pound king and one of the greatest boxers in history, was killed Sunday night when he was hit by a car in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was 55. Known as "Sweet Pea," Whitaker, a southpaw from Norfolk, Virginia, was revered as perhaps the best defensive fighter in history as his slick moves confounded opponent after opponent. Super RIP.
Terrible irony that he got hit by a car. Avoided so many hits in the ring and a gotdamn car takes him out. Almost like a fire station burning down or a police station being robbed. This was not supposed to happen to Sweet Pea
it is ironic he was as elusive as anyone i've ever seen in the ring dominated guys like azumah, mcgirt and chavez
