I just want the younger generations and even my generation to understand that this guy called like 20 World Series, NFL games, all star games, the Masters, etc all at the national level. He was not merely that old guy who calls Dodger games. He is legitimately the best to ever do it.

I've seen a ton of appreciation for Vin on Twitter so far this season from many people who are non-Dodger fans. The actual baseball fans get it. The poser/ignorant "fans" probably never will, but they're not worth wasting any time on.

Part of what makes vin so awesome is that he doesnt care about any of that stuff.

Yeah, baseball fans know who he is and how important he is. Maybe not really young fans, but even the kids I work with know how important he is.

    • The Padres are fielding calls from plenty of teams for James Shields, tweets Jon Heyman of MLB Network. The White Sox and Padres are discussing a trade involving the right handed starter, and those negotiations have “significant momentum,” reports Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

If the Giants win, by whatever margin, close or runaway fashion, it helps to have a team or teams that can be looked down upon as worse ?

Only you could take a post about a prenneial cellar dwelling team and make it about the Giants.

Although it's much to difficult in concept for the likes of you, in the context of the post, it is about the
Giants. Why else would we be looking down on anyone...because we lost to the Giants, maybe?
Kiss my ass anyway, no matter what you think.

I'm really starting to worry about Grandal and Turner, both are still struggling mightily. With Kendrick and Thompson both playing well and SVS on the way back, I would not hate to see the Dodgers pull the "phantom injury" card on Turner and try to get him off his surgically repaired knee for a couple weeks. Kendrick looks like shit in LF and you don't know how long the Thompson thing will last, so I say take advantage of it now. Also see about doing the same thing with Grandal and bringing up Barnes for a spell. Do it after the Cubs series and then you are missing them against a string of bad teams (and the Giants), but would get them back in time for the Nationals series.

No, it had nothing to do with the Giants. It had to do with the Dodgers doing poorly (not the Giants fault) and the pAAdres doing even worse (not to the Giants credit). We would be looking down on them because no matter how bad we suck, they suck worse. Even if the fucking Giants were in last place, it wouldn't keep up from looking down on the pAAdres. Try wrapping your brain around that concept. Drive it around the block, kick the tires.

Btw, take your head out of it, and I'll pucker up.

    Then you can kiss mine.

Ryu taking step back in rehab due to soreness
by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 20 minutes ago

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ efforts to bolster their starting rotation took a significant hit as Brett Anderson, Brandon Beachy and Mike Bolsinger were lost to injury during Spring Training. That was magnified by Hyun-Jin Ryu’s recovery from last May’s shoulder surgery hitting multiple snags.

Although Ryu was initially projected to recover in time for Spring Training, he never appeared in a Cactus League game. Eventually, his expected return was pushed back to the regular season, with the southpaw targeting May.

That too came and went, though Ryu did complete multiple bullpen sessions and threw live batting practice as he built up to beginning a rehab assignment that started on May 15 with High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

After two starts with the Quakes, the 29 year old joined Triple-A Oklahoma City, but is taking a step back due to experiencing soreness after a recent outing, per ESPN’s Buster Olney:

    Backing off his planned assignments.
    12:49 PM - 29 May 2016

According to AM 570 LA Sports Radio DodgerTalk host and full-time douchebag David Vassegh, the Dodgers aren’t overly concerned by the setback:

    David Vassegh ‎@THEREAL_DV
#Dodgers aren't panicking over Ryu shoulder inflammation.
He hit 90+MPH in his last start for 1st time in over a year.
    They will be patient.
    1:19 PM - 29 May 2016

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said recently that Ryu was slated to make two more rehab starts; the first since Roberts’ comments was scheduled to come Monday afternoon with Oklahoma City. Ryu had gradually built up his innings and pitch count through his first three outings.

In his last start, he tossed 55 pitches over four scoreless innings, then threw an additional 10 pitches on the side. Ryu has thrown a combined nine innings over three rehab starts.

Ugh, but at least it doesn't sound serious. Would rather they take an extra couple weeks and make sure he's ready than rush him and fuck us over even more
