I really hope this lights a fire under Puig when he gets off the DL. If he gets off the DL. But gotta be realistic. He's probably thinking about what color interior to get in his new car that he can't drive.
we did but no one ever ventures outside the dodgers forum anymore so... you were there don't you remember? http://www.dailysportspages.com/index.php?threads/bilbo.6640/
LOL at the front office saying "it was just a numbers game". Trading players can also help with the numbers game, and something tells me they've been trying to trade Crawford for a long time.
Would have been nice if Carl could have stayed healthy, but the injuries just took their toll on what was once a really fucking good player. He's a shell of what he once was and for that, I am happy to see Carl gone. Great to see the FO realize that they had to get him off the roster.
It was a pipe dream. He hasn't been worth a shit for five years. Masterful job by Theo of dumping an awful contract that he orchestrated.
Yeah he was still capable of being a factor the 1st couple years, especially in the post, definitely gave them a chance to win in OCT/2013 which was our best team/best shot at it IMO Much as we kill him, deservingly, he provided some good times, put those homers in his casket, RIP Lol It's still party time tho, TY FO!
I don't know if the Dodgers ever really expected anything from Crawford (or Beckett for that matter). That deal was to get Adrian and make a statement for the new ownership. Anything they got from Crawford would have just been a bonus. As far as Theo, that was an amazing job. He saw everything unfolding in LA and took advantage of the situation. More GM's would have been smart to pawn bad contracts off on the new kids who paid $2 billion for their team.
Yeah that was Cherington It wasn't really all that good a job either, LAD's farm was pretty despicable and the prospects they ended up with were meh. Dumped the contracts on LAD, but only because new ownership/Kasten was willing to take them on to compete immediately and get Adrian, so it wasn't like any brilliance was on display. And really, Boston shit the bed again after being allowed to clear the books with these new deals for Sandoval and Hanley
