Joc has one of the worst overall approaches to hitting I have ever seen. It's as if he purposely negates his talent by being a duflus up there. He took his once substantial tools and made himself into a totally average hitter...from exceptional power to one of the middle of the pack.
we have morrow and i'd like to see an occasional relief appearance by maeda and ryu as we get closer baez doesn't need to be on the playoff roster but you know he will be like a that faulty part on a jet that kills all aboard
It's a pitch location thing. Didn't like how he pitched the Tomargo, though. Pitched to him like he was Freeman. I love that he's developed a couple of secondary pitches, but at times he and Grandal seem too enamored with them.
Haven't hit much the last four games. Have to put up more than three a game in that Atlanta launching pad.
Notes: --Can't win every game. --Puig has been very encouraging with his strong at bats and opposite field approach. --Avilan is GARBAGE --Logan isn't good at hitting. --Baez is good and serviceable but not elite by a long shot. He will kill us in the post if it comes down to him in a big situation. --An .800+ OPS from a CFer making league minimum is perfectly welcome. But Joc doesn't seem like he will ever put it all together which is disappointing. His defense doesn't grade well this season either. We will see with him. Valuable, yes. Reliable, eh. --Grandal needs more days off. --I don't believe in Brock Stewart. I'm stoked that the front office was able to take a guy with not much promise and turn him into a valuable asset. But that's all he is and you better cash in on it before it's too late. He's really not all that great. The stats show our Bullpen has been one of the best in baseball collectively but there are some guys in there I don't trust one bit. And I don't think Watson or the other guy are gonna help. Really disappointed that the owner of the Orioles was such a douchebag. Despite all this, I still believe we are the best team in baseball. Not a question. Hopefully our very few weaknesses don't do us in like they normally do.
I think a season this awesome is important. It's really hard to be eliminated in October and have to sit through six more months of regular season to get back to that point. The repetitive 90 win seasons ending in disappointment can cause a little bit of apathy. This regular season run with all of the great moments has helped me enjoy baseball a little bit more
- Yes, we can win them all - I agree with Puig. I'm starting to like this fucker again. - I just looked up Logan's stats and he has a .355 OBP. He has 41 walks (and 56 hits). WTF? He sure seems to fail the eye test. - Grandal has 80 starts and Barnes has 30. With 50 games left, it should be a 50/50 split the rest of the way, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. I wouldn't even complain if Barnes caught more games. We need Grandal fresh for October.
