Yep. Couldn't muster up the energy to tune in or post. I did see that Freeman doubled in game 2. Two more to 60.
Grove, too. If this team falls short (and I think it will), the development of the young pitchers (throw Stone in there, too) will serve them well for years to come.
I looked at 77 Bums' 30 homer club: Garvey, Cey, Smith, & Baker. Only Garvey & Cey had 100 rbis. I'm not sure what's more impressive - that lineup or this one. I do hold Lasorda hugely responsible (although not entirely) for failing to beat NY at least one of those years (77 or 78) but if this one fails, it's all on Scarecrow. The pop in this lineup is ferocious, and better than Atlanta in my opinion. The question will be whether next week's rest helps/harms the bye teams. I don't have much confidence (as you know). I think Atlanta gets another ring.
I know it doesn't matter, but i'd really like to see Freddie. Get a 100 rbi's and Mookie get the 40th home run.
I think both actually happen tonight. Mookie is due and I think Noah Davis is a batting practice pitcher lol
Outman just bunted for a hit. I'd like to think Scarecrow smartened up & called for that. But I doubt it.
Not to drone it to death, because it's a fucking rotting carcass now, but the umpiring by this clown Bucknor tonight is so bad you have to laugh at it. A true comedy of errors. Absolutely no pride left in the most important controlling factor in the sport.
well there's FF over 100 and i sure hope Mookie gets it soon cause it seems like a roadblock at this point
I was listening to the Rockies feed in the 8th, and their play-by-play guy goes, "And the pitch to Mookie is a strike... if he was three inches taller."
guess it might be time to worry about caleb since he's getting his ass handed to him every outing now
I don't know what to think about last night's game...realizing the lineup, errors on simple basic balls, the worst pitching yet, meaningless in the scheme of things...blah, blah. But is it ? Like an alternate universe.
