If any of the top spects are offered it should be joc. joc is going to sit in the minors until there is an opening on the roster be it, trade, injury, etc. unfortunately due to the shit contracts of a trio of these OFs I don't see them going anywhere.

That's not what I would prefer but unless Ned has some black mail material on a GM or two in the league we are stuck with them.

It would be nice to see how Guerrero's bat will play. If he can be a LFer and Puig progresses in CF...all of a sudden 2/3 of our outfield is set (offensively at the very least). Right now, only one of our outfielders can hit for shit. Kemp has been slightly above average, sure...but his swing is unrecognizable from his glory days. It's basically Puig and the 3 stooges rotating around the other spots.

    Gurerrero- LF
    Puig- CF
    Kemp- RF

Crawford and Ethier can't hit. If Puig can play CF then send Joc packing. Let Alex Guerrero infuse what;s missing offensively.

    Kemp, SVS, Lee for Lester.
We eat some of the Chinchilla's money.

Lester agrees to a sign and trade.

    i like our response...
    • According to one-ranking official directly involved with the talks, the Los Angeles Dodgers recently asked for Hamels. They were told the price would be three of their top prospects - center fielder Joc Pederson, shortstop Corey Seager and left-handed pitcher Julio Urias.

"Sorry," the Dodgers said, "but no interest."

Then the Red Sox go on a miraculous run, make the playoffs and Scott Van Slyke hits a pinch hit walk off HR to beat us in the World Series

I'm not convinced that our current lineup won't get us there...

And I'm also not convinced that ANY of these trade talks make us so much better... marginally maybe... but not so much

    nor am i
but i do know that kersh/zack/hamels or kersh/zack/price or kersh/zack/lester is significantly better than kersh/zack/ryu or kersh/zack/josh

Kersh/Zack/Ryu ain't so bad but I'd agree that Kersh/Zack/Price would rock...

Hamels seems to get streaky sometimes...
Lester is not enough of an improvement to let any of the top 3 prospects depart...
And last I looked Ryu is still getting the job done more times than not

Haren? OK trade him for a warm 6 pack...

Hamels was 8-14 last year... and only 5-5 this year so why in the hell would we think he's going to help us at all?

Especially at the cost of ANY of our top prospects

    jayson stark/espn...
    • Los Angeles Dodgers: They're in on everybody. And they'd clearly love to add a starting pitcher this dominating. But a Matt Kemp-for-Lester deal isn't going to happen. And if the Dodgers balked at trading elite prospects like Joc Pederson and Corey Seager for David Price (whom they'd control through next year and might be able to sign long-term), would it really make sense for them to pay that price tag for a rent-an-ace? "They've been so consistent about not trading those guys," said one exec, "it's hard for me to believe they'd do that for Lester."

What does a W-L decision have to do with how he's actually pitched?
