You're comparing different years from the two. Anyways, the argument is about impact major league players. Both were impact players. Both suck tho.
Loney sucks, Russ Martin was a great player who's now a decent player, and JMac is probably an average SP.
as much as I dislike loney not really a fair comparison young is a career .239 hitter loney's career BA is .282 loney's worst BA year (2012) he hit .249 young's best BA year he hit .248 with all young's HR's, his career slugging is only 18 points higher than loney
Idk, this is just a dumb topic. Everyone catches their breaks and other don't. The Dodgers have been notoriously known as a pitching organization since Irish and 4ev were born. The fact that we were able to produce a hitter like Matt Kemp and bring in Andre Ethier is huge when you factor in how great our homegrown pitching has been.
Another point is we've had our share of prospects who've had huge trade value. It sucks we didn't trade some of them at their peak value.
those would have been good to fool some teams and get value in return... none of them were real ML talent...
IDK if it's that dumb....pitching wise better than average, although we wind up with retread city so often to fill it out, compliments of Ned, the position players have been , comparitvely, so-so. I think generally, it is over rated. Dodger hype, a la Guzman and so many others. Puig may put us up there, though.
