But, but, Jeter!!!! We have only seen him play 2,838 times, we need to see him for a 2,839th time! Who cares if Baltimore is 10 up on the Yanks or if Dodgers-Giants is a fierce rivalry with playoff implications and first place on the line! Yankee farewell tours are more important! Rivera last year, Jeter this year, who is next? Is that the only way they can get national attention since they suck nowadays?

I'm really gonna need a Dodgers sweep to make up for what the Donkeys are gonna do to my Chiefs this weekend.

i agree..mostly because they know that if they don't win game #1 and/or game #2, that it's a guaranteed sweep because they're not beating Kershaw. so they better not lose to Ryu or Greinke, otherwise it's a wrap. Lol

I think it'll be a dog fight regardless. Giants have a bit of an easier end of the road than we do.

Coors Field has been hell for us. And Haren and Fauxto are making those starts.

The Cubs have played really good ball since the all star break, so they're not a cake walk. Thankfully our bests starters are pitching. Then we get SF one last time, so one would think we would try to line up our best against them again.

Meanwhile they get us, the Dbacks and the Padres. To me, it looks like it's going down to the wire.

the way i see it, if they attack every game with playoff intensity, they'll be sharp for the post season. this series should serve as a launching point for LAD

In some ways, I am more concerned with the Cubs than I am with the SFags.

I think it's amazing that benching Puig has come up so much. He's one of the best hitters in baseball. Slumps happen. He does look awful, but I'd rather have him work it out than hope Ethier or Pederson do something (they probably won't).

the only reason i'm not completely worried about the Cubs is because the series is @ Wrigley and the Dodgers have been a different team on the road. i'm definitely aware that the Cubs would be a stumbling block tho..very glad that Samardzija is gone.

yea, we're way past a Puig benching. if his hips been hurtin since early August, he should've sat then and other guys should've just got their ass in gear quicker. but i think maybe Hanley was going through his injury stuff and of course Ethier's a bum and Crawford hadn't come on yet, so there you have it on that decision. they just needed him to try. bench Puig now to give him a rest?..well then you're asking him to come back with a series or two left..or the 1st round of the playoffs ( maybe the wild card, hope not) and then he'd have to get his timing back. better for him to just work through it now.

i think the best place for Puig right now is the bottom of the lineup. if Hanley can catch fire then teams will have to go through Hanley-AGon-Kemp-and a hot CC and an Uribe that's swingin it well..hide Puig behind Uribe and sort of let opposing starters breathe that sigh of relief after getting through our bats that are swinging it well and maybe Puig can catch some guys napping and get on track that way. the 7-hole for Puig from here on out..if i were managing.

I think this SF series, although another does loom in the near future, will go a long way towards CK as MVP. If he is as he can certainly be, then it's his I would assume. But you know what they say about assuming... I never thought Selig's godson, Braun, would get it, but he did.
It doesn't matter anyway. It's nice for him, but getting to the WS, individual achievement crowns be damned, is all she wrote.
If you're on a shitty team, then I guess that's all you can go for...but on a division leader, goals would seem to be a bit different.
Has Puig's number been changed to 666 yet?
