I'm not sure why our FO would even be in on Chapman. Passed on him last year for much much less. So if he doesn't want to come to California it shouldn't affect us.

I'm putting it at about 97.8% chance that Kenley will not be a Dodger next year.

This FO will not pay that type of money to a reliever, and they have to be drooling over that number 13 pick we would get from Miami.

We wouldn't get the 13th pick. Marlins would just lose it. We would get one in the supplemental round; but I get your point.

Doesn't make sense why the Marlins are even in the conversation for a closer anyways. I thought they had that Ramos guy that was pretty good? Not to mention that they're not a good team as it is.

Yup, they're smarter than we are, or Boston is, with their 3 recent WS titles. Why go for it all when you can jerk off and draft high school kids who've already had Tommy John surgeries?

    FUCKTARDS!

They'd be drooling over a pick between rounds 1 and 2

    Does he want win?
Does he want to keep his facial hair?
Didn't he just buy a house in Manhattan beach?

He gone. Go get Robertson or Colome (preferably paired with Forsythe to play 2B) and call it good.

    expanded tweet...

    Marly Rivera ✓ ‏@MarlyRiveraESPN 56m minutes ago
Aroldis Chapman on why he included the no-trade provision to California: "I just didn't want to go that far from ... my family. I did have the opportunity to stay here near my house (in Florida, playing with the Miami Marlins) but no, I leaned more towards (going to) New York."

Maybe Brian Wilson will make himself available. Hear he's been saving his stuff for 2017.

$80 million for 5 years on a closer is suicidal for a team on the brink of a 92% luxury tax hit when they still need infield help and LHP hitting consistency. Look at our recent history with closers, Gagne, Broxton, Saito, Shaw.....I think 4 years was max with them...probably 2 years with real effectiveness.

Even though I think the Dodgers should walk away from that kind of money, I would be lying if I knew what might be a valid substitute. Looks like the Melancon deal was cheap in comparison.

I just want to avoid 9th inning meltdowns of the kind the Gnats suffered last season. That would be murder to deal with.
