After seeing the amazing pregame festivities guggs pulled off in 2013 for opening day I got my hopes up.

But the new PA guy and the cringe worthy entertainment left me disappointed.

    Fortunately the GAME was awesome!

I thought the PA guy sounded pretty good and very similar to Eric. Granted he wasn't as good, but I think he was very solid.

I didn't like how it sounded like a knock off of Smith. Just do your own style imo. Smith is gone so no sense trying to pretend he's there.

Idk what was going on with all of those 'in stadium hosts' and a pop artist singing on top of the dugout. Mary Hart and George Lopez (I like both of them) were awful. Just terrible. They had some technical difficulties too. I know it sounds like I'm looking for reasons to complain, but...

I feel like when you buy opening day tickets you're paying for the whole experience and the pregame stuff fell flat. Especially compared to the last couple years with Koufax, Magic, Vin, etc. participating. I even thought the cheesy video with all the celebrities passing the ball around in 2013 was pretty cool.

The Eric Gagne thing was awesome this year but nobody was paying attention. Blame that on the event and media staff. It was a mess.

But I'm glad I got to see the game which was the most important thing!

I agree with you about how Eric Smith isn't as good at his other gigs.

His style at Clipper games is generic over the top WWE sounding crap. I haven't heard him at USC.

But the way he did Dodger games was unique and perfect. I think he left the place he belongs most.

The new guy does sound a lot like Eric Smith. If he cuts down on his mistakes, he'll be fine.
