To be fair, theres a lot of Dodger fans who are the same way. I'd bet percentages in fair weather fan bases are a bit similar, but I'd one time love to get as good as I could polling data on fan bases and find out how similar the percentages of different types of fans each base has. With that said, I think the main difference between Dodger fans and Angel fans is what gets each fan base satisfied: Angel fans seem to love to be the best California team, and better than the Dodgers. Dodger fans want to be the best team in the MLB. Just my opinion
I was bored and turned on MLB.tv which has a "Classic Games" section. I turned on 1988 Game 1 and the coverage starts with a shot of the downtown skyline from above Dodger Stadium and all I can say is holy smog fuck.
Casual fans who act like they know shit annoys the fuck out me. Like yesterday... I caught the 1st inning and the top of the 2nd during my lunch break...I then proceed to check the score incessantly when Im back at work. See a guy decked out in Dodger apparel. I obv engage in convo about the Dodgers....This nigga said Beckett can only hit 87mph with his FB. I then say I think he was sitting at like 90-91 and hit 92. The guy then tells me, "no, he hasn't hit 90 in years bro. He maxes at 87" Shit like this happens every god damn day.
Glad you were there to school his ass. I know a kid that has his whole forearm tatooed with the Dodgers emblem. I asked him who our starting 2nd basemen is(last season)...he couldn't answer.
At the game yesterday some lady was ranting that the dodgers shouldn't have "traded Matt Treanor cause he was good" lol
This one dude was buying shit from the concession stand and he had a dodger hat, dodger jacket and dodger debit card so I asked him if he was excited for the season and he looks at me like I'm an idiot. Finally he realized what I was talking about and said his mom bought him that stuff. Never asking anyone again. Another time a couple came in with giants gear and I said go dodgers and the dude said "i just wear the hats man". Wanted to punch him
Prediction: in a week they will say Kemp's shoulder is hurting, he'll go t the DL and Puig will get called up, and will never leave...
I got into a semi duel with a 50 something year old Giant fan that was sitting 2 people over from me. Loud mouth POS
I would have, but I'm a typical Dodger fan who leaves early. That game was disgusting. Glad I left. I got from LA to Cypress in 20 minutes. If I didn't leave early I would've been in the parking lot for an hour+.
I guess we saw different games...or that's just how differently I look at things than others. The "second best pitcher" (aguably...very), who didn't start, is useless if he can't pitch because of something physical that is preventing him from being on the field; so it is all moot and conjecture. Obviously, if we can't hit, then it really don't matter, I understand that. But if you can look at Ryu's performance, and say that his actual stats reflect good pitching, (in that particular game), then we are very far apart. Ryu was incredibly lucky, and should/could have given up way more runs. In fact, he pretty much sucked, IMO. Maybe it was just that day, I hope. If his performance was not problematic, and you think it was good and effective, we really have nothing to discuss then. If he's not that lucky, and we were up against a power team, they have a laugher out there. Giving up hit after hit, every inning is, IMO, not a great approach to things. I guess that's just me. Maybe it will all right itself sooner than later, but what I saw is a team that blew us away in pitching. Beckett looked good too? It took a storybook day by CK to even beat Cain. If that's not better pitching than we have, then I guess I just saw something else. I'm just as loyal a fan as anyone else, but I'm not going to deny what I saw.
