The problem is, a rib injury can totally make Hanley suck at the plate AND defensively. At least Punto can give us good D. I don't know how well Hanley can play whether he wants to or not. Same goes for Ethier in a way.

Dare I say that this may also be the most important game for Mattingly. One can argue that bad substitution in Game 1, the bad call to send Mark Ellis on a short fly against Beltran, pretty much cost us in Game one. Now you got Ryu pitching and there is no margin for error. He has to manage a perfect game today.
Ryu is going to need to come out strong in the first inning, something he has not done for some time. He gets through the first inning unscathed and it could go a long way to getting the crowd in the game.
If we are counting on Hanley to win this game then we already lost! Fact is, Gonzo and Puig need to step the fuck up!! Dre better be in the lineup tonight!
