So what you're saying is that you don't know why you can't agree that Hendricks should bat lead off since he has a better average and OBP than Rollins, that you can't successfully argue against it because the stats say otherwise, so you change the argument to fit your purposes. Got it.
So what you're saying there is that you're :blind: too, and that you've been wrong about everything from Rollins to Kendrick to Uribe to hall of fame credentials to batting order, and now you're finally bowing out when it comes time to explain your decision to protect AGon with Uribe because you're just tired of being wrong. Got it.
Meh, you still on about the payroll? Mad that the Yankees needed Moncada the most and got outbid by the Sox? I mean, hate on you for what? When's the last time the Yankees even won their own division? And farm..http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=25592 look at who ranks 21st there. Hahaha Have you met Andre Ethier? The rest of what you had there wasn't even worth responding to..you look like carolina Jr. Stick around, though, and lob some more " heaters " into the stands so that carolina can swing and miss a bit more.
Nope, never was interested in him. Too much $ for what is essentially a kid out of high school Congrats, winning the division is what it's all about. Why even have a post season? Congrats again, dodgers are third, combined with winning the NL west a couple times and you've really created a dynasty.......of mediocrity. winning on paper don't mean shit, get a ring once every quarter century, then brag how well you're doing. DH stands for designated hitter and Andre can't hit. What the dodgers have is an overpaid utility outfielder psst, you don't lob those into the stands, the batter stands at home plate.
Lol The Boss is spinning in his grave. And when Moncada's raking for the Sox and driving the nail into the Yankees..then what will you say?.. ..something like " FUCK! " I assume. You didn't answer the question. Again, when's the last time the Yankees even won their own division? Except I didn't even mention the Dodgers. I pointed to the team with the 21st ranking aka the Yankees. Lol The same Yankees that can't even win their own division these days or put together a decent farm. However, you can continue to brag about what the Yankees used to be..at least you have that. FAIL. Do I need to list all the designated hitters that can't hit? Bottom line is who needs a " DH that is usually overpaid " when we have an overpaid Ethier?
IF he hits, I'll say at least he isn't a dodger. two whole years ago, now when did the dodgers last get a ring? 88 if i remember correctly, not sure since it's been so long. What the yankees used to be still tops what the dodgers never have been. So our farm ranks 21? who gives a shit. The cubs are number one on that list, The twins #2 and dodgers #3. Elite company of title winning teams there, one team has waited over 100 years, the other has been waiting almost as long as the dodgers.......But we won't talk about that, just winning the division and minor league rankings so the Dodgers look like they are doing well. 6 guys qualified in the AL last year for the batting title at DH, Most of the AL doesn't invest in this position as a full time job. The dodgers have one and they don't even play in the league with a DH so what's your point? With the exception of MAYBE Adam Dunn, I'm not taking Ethier over any of them and I'd probably take Dunn before Andre because of potential and insane power.
so if Moncada's helping slay the Yankees every year, you'll still be thinking about the Dodgers? smh sad. no Moncada, no Cano, but " never fear..ARoid is heeeeere! " no Olivera for the Yankees either, but you guys have the great Stephen Drew, so no prob. so ever since the big blockbuster AGon/Crawford trade, eh? Lol maybe that's why you hate so much... i don't live in the past, so i'm not concerned with past titles. i'm not a Yankee fan. and do you know what's fun?..knowing that the Dodgers are the only current division champ with a Top 10 farm. that's both " present " and " future " quality..Yankees have neither. again, your point is negated by the fact that the Dodgers are not only overpaying a bench guy in Ethier, but they're also overpaying Guerrero and Arruba..and now they're paying 10M a year for an Olivera who doesn't even have a spot yet. basically, you can stop babbling about " expenses " and AL teams having to overpay for DH's..the Dodgers pretty much have their own DH system going except they aren't getting any use at all out of these guys and they aren't losing any sleep over it.
Does Drew suck? yes he does, it still doesn't make a 19 year old from Cuba worth the risk of 40 million. Fact is, he is high risk/high reward but if you searched or 21st ranked farm system that you you seem so sure about, you will notice that one of highest ranked prospects is middle infielder named refsnyder. We need to get guys at other positions before 40 million dollar insurance. Good work Dodgers, you created a title winner by taking out the Red Sox garbage, of course last year they fell back to last place Oh........kinda negates your point about winning the division last year and the yankees failing to do so. Or does the past only count when you can frame it for your own points? That was last years division champ and the dodgers don't have near the lineup they had last year. Take your own words to heart and stop living in the past. Brilliant, a DH system in the NL with no production and no one cares. That's a formula for success.
you mean the 24yr old who's not even a Top 100 spec? you know Moncada's likely coming right in as a Top 50 spec at 19 years old, right? as a matter of fact, i don't think the Yankees have a single Top 100 spec on their entire farm. cut the bullshit..the Yankees wanted Moncada and had major interest in him..they just lost out to the Sox. no Olivera either. again, The Boss is spinning in his grave over this new Kansas City Royals-like approach by the Yankees. Hahahahahaha the Sox' " garbage " has been our treasure..AGon is steady as he goes with his production and Crawford just hit .300 and helped power our last two playoff runs... seems like the only loser from that deal is the Yankees. actually, you congratulated the Dodgers on winning their division. the whole point in my response was to highlight the Yankees' fall to where they are currently..on the bottom of the O's/Sox' shoes. that's just your opinion..Fangraphs and Pecota have higher caliber opinions than yours and they sit the Dodgers between 92-97 wins for this season. they like the lineup's depth and potential and obviously continue to worship at the alter of the LAD starting pitching. also, Las Vegas still has the Dodgers as the #2 favorite to win the WS this year as well, so no i'm not living in the past..we expect good things this year, brotha. so like i said, the Dodgers are the highest caliber MLB level club to make the Top 10 in the farm rankings. we're feelin pretty good about the present and the future..Yankee fans can't say the same about the Yankees. i didn't say that no one cares..i said they aren't gonna lose any sleep over it as you've just seen with them signing Olivera. they moved Kemp ( another pending DH), so they care..and they got quality in return for him which is more important. Ethier is next with possibly Crawford and/or Guerrero/Arruba to follow. you just don't get to use that DH excuse. all in all, you're just babbling here and making more excuses than actual sense.
Not at that price they didn't, he took the red sox offer to the yankees and the yankees refused to match or beat it. He wanted to be in NY, he didn't take this request to any other team. And yes, the yankees have a couple top 100, is the farm stocked? no, but the cupboard isn't bare either, just don't need to have to have 2bmen when there are so many other holes to fill, especially at that price. How do you figure? The dodgers haven't done a damn thing with this "treasure" while the red sox got a title dumping dead weight. Uh, the red sox finished dead last last year and while i congratulated the dodgers on winning the NL west, I also pointed out that it doesn't matter if you blow it in the playoffs. Well then, congrats yet again you've built a paper champion and gamblers from the closest city vegas are placing bets. None of this matters in about a week when it will become clear this team isn't as good as it was last year. It is in fact, older and slower. gotcha, semantics. Not going to split hairs between not losing sleep vs. not caring. Trust me, if ethier or crawford were movable, kemp would still be in LA. The bottom line is that even offering to pay for those two guys no offered shit in return.
You are correct about older and slower, but dead wrong about not as good. For this one year, the Dodgers did in fact get older in the starting lineup, but they also go from near the bottom defensively to near the top, and couple that with their formidable starting pitching and you have a more sound over all squad. Older and slower won't mean much in the run differential column.
and Moncada only took the Red Sox offer to the Yankees because the Dodgers decided that they wanted him to wait until July to sign so they could keep their flexibility..the Dodgers outbid both the Red Sox and Yankees. that's the point..old man Steinbrenner would've never let any of that happen. dude, Moncada plays more than just 2B. quit making excuses. if Moncada had gone for less money, regardless of what the Yankees already have on their shitty farm, Moncada would be a Yankee. haven't done a damn thing except improve the quality of their team and make them contenders. what are the Yankees contending for right now? and speaking of taking the " Red Sox trash "..30yr old Ellsbury to the Yankees for 150M was awesome..what's Brett Gardner worth? Lol dude, the Yankees didn't even make the playoffs..you're talkin shit about the Red Sox coming in last place when both of their asses were at home early. smh making the playoffs matters when you're only building on that success the following year. if you made the playoffs like the Braves in 2013 and then John Hart came in a year later and traded your most talented players..then you'd have a point. but you don't because the Dodgers have gotten better defensively, improved the leadoff spot, improved the catcher spot, lengthened the lineup and are now turning to that #3 ranked farm system of theirs ( Joc Pederson). you call it paper champs, others call it being contenders. you're just mad because the Yankees aren't contenders anymore. season's over before it even starts. you really think the Dodgers couldn't do what the Phillies are doing right now in offering to pay all but 10M of Howard's remaining salary? look, the Dodgers' new brain trust is one that specializes in getting value in trades. they went out and got really good value for a Kemp that probably has 2 good years left. they want the right return for Ethier/Crawford and they can afford to wait..that is all.
and the yankees said they wouldn't go over 25 million, doesn't change the fact Moncada took his best offer back to NY not LA. As for Steinbrenner, if you knew anything about the players he prized for the yankees, 19 year old phenoms were never his m.o. so if he were alive, moncada still wouldn't be in pinstripes. In the two years he played pro ball in Cuba, he played them all at 2b The guggenheims improved the team fiscally and in rebuilding the minors but as far as on field results at the highest level, they haven't made the next step. Don't forget under McCourt the dodgers went to the NLCS twice in 5 years. We've had this conversation before, Gardner is worth 4/52....the contract he signed you said the yankees were behind boston, I corrected you stating that no one was behind boston last year Not mad at all, I like the direction the team is heading, they are getting younger and finding role players, exactly how they built the teams that dominated the late 90's I think they did try it and much like Howard is still in philly, andre is still in LA. Sometimes things get so bad for a player that no matter how much money you send with them, other teams don't want to give them a roster spot.
