True, but we also didn't lose two of our best hitters last year either....that's assuming we deal Kemp.

that's true too, but last year Kemp was a question mark. the big commitment and his health/performance tied our hands there.

and of course the market for SS isn't all that great this year, so they're looking to trade there too + they don't wanna block Seager.

free agency isn't always the answer..remember all the excitement when they told us that they'd be retooling the farm? sometimes you bring those guys up and give'em a shot. those become your big league acquisitions. hopefully one day soon the Dodgers will be able to do a lot of that and successfully.

been watching the coverage..heard the idea of a Derek Holland/Beltre headlined TEX package for a Kemp/Ethier headlined LAD package..can't say i don't like it.

i'm assuming the Rangers would want at least one young arm in return..Dodgers would probably give up Chris Anderson and show Zach Lee the door as well. Lee is basically a throw away at this point..5 million spent on this guy. Lol but the Rangers need young starting arms. Dodgers would probably like to get their top young reliever. might be a match.

The hope within SF organization that they have legit shot to sign Lester has grown over last 24 hours. A week ago they felt like a longshot.

The more I look at the numbers for which Lester wants and the more I don't want him. 5 years at $30 per year?!

Hamels is starting to look better and better.

I think he wants 6/150, so 25 mil per

Yeah, like I said I think years 1-2 would be fantastic but the latter years have heavy risk

And I'm starting to have that sinking feeling that the Dodgers interest was just an agent trying to drive up price...

    Lol Rosendouche
He says Cubs and Giants are the finalists and then adds "a late bid might change this" just so he can't be wrong. Pathetic. Mystery team lol

This is abso-FUCKING-lutely the scenario. I've been saying this for a while now, but not so succinctly as Gebbeth has done here.

Haha, I was wondering why the number was coming out so high. $25M is still a lot.

If I was the Dodgers I'd offer 6 years at $153MM with a guaranteed 7th year based on performance in the previous year or two.

Heyman said it during this morning's coverage..said that Greinke told him that he'd be watching Lester and Scherzer..that he's " no Kershaw ", but he's on those other guy's levels

To be fair I very nearly voted 'trade Kemp' which would have tied the vote here, but I rationalized that a Kemp trade would likely be weeks away.
