I think the Dodgers need to consider Jake Peavy. He has had great success in our division in the past and would slot in perfectly as a #4.

I don't want to give Lester 7 years, no thanks.

    not so fast :suicide:
    • Lester’s limbo could continue until Wednesday, WEEI.com’s Rob Bradford tweets. Team owners are now involved in the process and are slowing it down.

According to Rosendouche, all 4 offers Lester has on the table in a similar 6/$150 range.

i hope the Dodgers loaded Lester's contract offer up with opt outs in the front and vesting years at the back. 2yrs of Lester before he opts out would be perfect..make a couple runs and then let his ass go. we should have Urias, Holmes, and Anderson making their moves for big league spots by then..Urias and Anderson definitely. Holmes ETA is 2017.

would he opt at 33yrs old? don't know, but damn it..put in the contract. and he should have to earn that 6th year/age 36 season if he doesn't.

Kemp must have really pissed somebody off for the FO to be so motivated to trade him for such scraps essentially.

Nice to see we're still in contention for Lester, but I honestly still doubt we get him.

Today could be the day alottttt of stuff happens, so get ready guys

Also, got the sense that the Kemp thing has some steam to it. Multiple people have said he's the outfielder the dodgers can move. They'd like to move Ethier or Craw but it's simply harder

So what's the scene like in San Diego? What people/information do you have access to? Or are you just checking Twitter like the rest of us?

I'm still wondering about all the "fear" that other clubs are supposed to have when the Dodgers get involved in acquiring the same player they want. As I see it, we are the losers at least twice already, so the "fear" seems a little overblown to me. One might say a crock of shit.
And driving up the price for Lester for the Giants, if they get him, does exactly what to them come next October, when it all comes down to what BB is all about?
They'll have a 1/2 on their rotation, about equally as good as we do, let's face it. And Greinke will leave for sure without an extension this winter, which ace boon Freidman has stated won't happen. and they'll still have Lester.
I think we have to land some top SP, whether Lester or Max.

It's a great time so far. It's all spread out over the Hilton, Hyatt and convention center. I'm going to some baseball job fair thing which is okay... a lot of marketing jobs that is something I don't want to do. But the hotel lobby at the Hyatt is packed at all times with FO execs and former players who make pitches at the FA's "special assistants". It's awesome haha

As we all know, no top shelf ML talent for Crawford or Andre, but definitely for Kemp. More of the Ned legacy putting us in a position to lose a huge piece of our offense, because we have to.
And no wine/dine from Friedman for Lester, like the other suitors, like the WS champs manager, etc. Why are we so smug? We are the losers, year after year, or is that just a passing, irrelevant fact?
It's OK to be proud, but not to be ignorant about it ...

@MLBNetworkRadio: Stan Kasten on Dodgers: "I wouldn't be surprised if we did a larger thing, or two or more. Maybe this week, but maybe not even this week."

Stan hardly speaks like this, usually tries to tone things down

But also that quote says nothing lol

This new FO is trying very hard to hide everything. Frustrating for us, perhaps very beneficial to them

I feel that if they move kemp they will be moving Ethier too. Just makes no sense to move him. Has to be a thing where the players kemp sends us makes up for the gatoraid Ethier brings back.
