or what about last year's wild card play-in game?
down three times to the a's
    coming back three times
scoring four in the 8th and 9th to tie it
and after giving up the go ahead run in the top of the 12th, scoring two in bottom of the inning to win it
it is abundantly clear this team never gives up and is never out out of any game
sad, but equally as clear, our team does not possess that gear

I don't really wanna start on Yost because I'm not entirely sure that they're doing it for Yost. When you watch them, and know the back story of how a lot of that core came up together, it almost seems as if it wouldn't matter who the manager was for them...that a Hosmer would fight hard for a Cain and a Cain would fight hard for an Escobar and on and on down to guys like the Moose who's also a home grown favorite there. Some teams need a Bochy, some don't. To me, that group looks like they wake up and as soon as their feet touch the floor they're ready to kick ass and they're lookin for a fight. Maybe a part of it is they also feel overlooked in KC.

And then Alex Gordon is as steady as he goes having been through the ups and downs in his career, position changes..he's done whatever it takes to be productive to pan out in the bigs and is a great model for that younger core. The trust and unselfishness has just spread. Infante, Rios, and Morales have never been known to rock any boats...and of course Zobrist has seen something very similar in Tampa so he's just as comfy as ever. They're just a great model for the Dodgers to look at, but of course the Dodgers also have the money to keep their best guys or target big fishes that would fit such a culture too, so maybe the Dodgers have potential to do that, but do it better. Because eventually KC is gonna lose key guys to free agency.

Absolutely...demeaning the guy and diluting what he has done is ridiculous, and looking the other way because the popular opinion of him, bolstered by search engine info, is laughable.
18-7 in the post, coupled with excellent regular season numbers dictates the opposite is true.
The team acts in a way which reminds me of when kids, how you felt about your team and teammates back in the day...and it's refreshing.
If Yost sucks, but can give the Royals that intangible connection, or even just keep it going as is, he's aces.
    Just win, baby.

Right here is where that logic breaks down. The Dodgers would not have had to fight back because Pederson would have caught that ball and it would have been out #1. That run was scored on an error, plain and simple. It was a helluva heads up base running play, but if the Dodgers were in the field he would have rounded second and headed for the dugout.

I told myself I wouldn't watch any of the World Series because yes I'm still bitter that the Dodgers blew it again but I can't for two reasons:

    1. I love baseball. 2. I love watching this royals team. These guys don't quit. They fight until out 27 is made. I really hope they can do to degrom what we and the Cubs couldn't. Get on him early and bury his ass, don't let him back up.

I'm just saying if a similar issue had happened, the Dodgers have had a tendency in the big games not to come through.

For example, that miffed shift in the Mets series. It's like they never recovered after that. Couldn't manufacture 1 more run.

It's also a manager who publically made a statement blaming a rookie with 1 month experience.
Whether he was at fault or not , it was a bush thing to do, like the public whatever it was with Ethier.
Not exactly inspirational to a team. Just like a BP with 25 blown saves.
Those elements have a tendency to drain a team's " vital fluids".

Donnie probably knew he wasn't going to be around and threw the kid under the bus.

I hope that serves as inspiration to Seager to kick some Marlins azz next season.

I totally get what you're saying, I'm just saying it would have had to come under different circumstances, cause that was an out.

I don't know..maybe the fact that so many smack Yost down serves as a rallying point for that group too and maybe they do take that personally. Maybe that's part of their fire. But it's really not enough to play for the name on the front of the jersey these days because of free agency and player movement. Loyalty is rare between player and franchise..especially the vets.

In the back of my mind I was kinda hoping that the Mets would bean Corey, so in return the Dodgers would rally around Corey and catch a spark, but give Collins credit he let sleeping bums lie after the Utley incident. Sometimes the best retaliation is to just leave it.

Collins knew it was baseball pure and simple, and that Tejada shouldn't have tried to complete the play.
