So now to kill time until we get more news on the trade front, here is the poll.

Hanley has more talent in his finger (IBB can attest to that) than Headley has in his whole body.

Headley isn't far off from Hanley, probably, but we gave up nothing for Hanley. Easy.

There is a difference of ceilings and we got Hanley for nothing.

Ceiling isn't the only way to evaluate a player. Hanley has more talent for sure, but Headley's more consistent. I'd give Hanley the nod, but acting like it's not close is wrong.

So, in your opinion, Eovaldi and taking the big contract was less to pay Zach Lee?

I actually could see that both 3B discussed are equal in many ways. HanRam has more potential, is more fun to watch, but I think far more risk than the Padre.

We got a better player, who at one time was a top player in the game. Something Headley will never be.

Headley is a very solid player, Hanley is a potential superstar. And anyone in baseball would say the same. It's an easy one for me.

You could say it's perception vs reality because Hanley has struggled and Headley has put up steady solid numbers, but Hanley is a guy an organization gets fired up for.

We don't know that Zach Lee would have landed Headley. It could have been more, it could have been less, but in this world of hypotheticals, Hanley for Eo > Headley for Lee.

I don't think it's a risk because we didn't give up much and can pay the money.

"Potential superstar" and "a guy an organization gets fired up for" are nice adjectives but are really hollow and meaningless. Headley is a 4 win player consistently right now. Hanley hasn't been that since 2010. I personally believe in Hanley, and that a change in scenery is going to make a difference, but making it seem like it's a no brainer is being a homer.

I give HanRam the edge for what he has brought to the team: fun. The team is having fun. The "I See You" stuff has livened up the clubhouse. Headley is great, and I would love to have him, but Hanley brought something cool to the team and they are all really bonding well.

I'll concede that I do love the "I See You" thing with all my heart. I bet Headley can't see many things. Advantage Hanley.

Neither of us work for the Dodgers, play for the team, or are in between the lines. You say it's meaningless, that's fine. I'll bet Don wouldn't.

You can't even compare the two. Hanley is twice the offensive player Headley will ever get close to. Shut this fucking head down..... God damn you Ford!

OK, be hypothetical for me then...Eo vs. Lee, who would you rather of given up for Hanley then? Who's more valuable in your opinion?

I don't agree with you, eat shit! :shit:
I'd rather have Ramirez because I've always liked the player, but most of that was when he was the greatest offensive SS the NL ever seen. Now, as a 3B with some questionable issues including injury, laziness, not playing hard, mailing it in, crappy defense, I don't think the gap is that far. Headley has never had much around him in the batting order and has played in crappy ballparks. Again, I'm happy we made this trade instead of Headley, but I'm not so convinced it will be better in the long run. Hanely is the type of player we all could easily hate on in a few months.
It was well worth the risk of losing Eovaldi and money we seem to have lots of ATM.
