    Also, you can give the team the money, but that doesn't always mean the player will want to play there.

    All teams can spend if they really wanted to. Teams like the A's, D-backs, and Rays can spend money on a big name player if they really wanted to make it happen.

    I thought about that, but then you say "your minimum will be $75M. Whatever you are UNDER that goes to the league and get's split between the other low market teams that comply with the $75M". That way teams want to get to the minimum. Sort of like a luxury tax but in reverse

    I get what you're saying, but that sounds a lot like the luxury tax. The lower market teams get a share of that tax paid by the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, and us.

    Who cares about those other teams? Let their penny-pinching owners squeeze every dollar out of the team and then refuse to spend it on maintaining/improving the team. Sound McFamiliar? It's okay to respect the competition, but if you don't want to beat, crush and humiliate them in every way possible...
