Cuban prospect infielder Guerrero is now represented by Scott Boras who will be doing his dog and pony show. Oh we'll there goes that signing down the drain as he will try to leverage the Dodgers against everyone else.
Cuban Infielder Alexander Guerrero hires Scott Boras by Craig Calcaterra | Hardballtalk -- NBC Sports Sep 16, 2013, 5:01 PM EDT A week ago it was reported that big hitting Cuban infielder Alexander Guerrero was close to signing with the Dodgers. He hasn’t signed yet and now he’s hired Super Agent Scott Boras. Who says that the bidding window is open to everyone: Jesse Sanchez @JesseSanchezMLB 2h Source: Alexander Guerrero has signed with Boras Corp. & they are now leading negotiations. They are entertaining offers from all 30 teams.1:34 PM - 16 Sep 13 That’s the thing about Boras. He’s all about fairness and opportunity for everyone who might give his clients money. He’s the most American of the agents in that way. Anyway, the Dodgers’ reported offer was $32 million. Gonna have to do better than that if you want Guerrero now. _
well we know Boras is real a real prick... OTOH if I was a pro athlete there would be no other agent I'd want so I can't blame the kid...
Don't sign him he hasn't proven Boras owes us for Ramirez and Jones ...... Its important that we move on to send a message or we get him at what they have agreed at before he backed out...
With Boras as his agent, he'll now sign in the last week of March with the Dodgers on a 7 year 25 million dollar deal. I feel like the league is getting real tired of Boras' antics and he immediately scares away half the teams in the league.
This guy is overrated. He looks pretty fucking average to me. Admittedly, I'm a truck driver not a baseball scout.
100% agree... with the value for prospects and teams using more analytics to evaluate washed up players, Boras has lost a lot of leverage... now teams draw a line and dont get past it... I still expect the Dodgers to sign him for the mentioned $32M, maybe getting it up to $35M... and I dont expect them to go over the 7 years...
except that the league is NOT tired of him at all since the league benefits by his raising overall salary levels so it's just us working classes fans that are disgusted with him. I do agree that the more the teams and the fans are aware of sabermetric stats the more it lessens his hold on key star athletes... Still if you were an athlete why wouldn't you want the smartest, most well versed, competent Jewish lawyer on your side? As a fan I hate him even more knowing he makes a huge cut on each deal...
have a feeling we might see the lee for kendrick trade, and they go all out for tanaka. 5th starter just have beckett bridge the gap till chad is ready.
Because... fewer clients. Less money. More attention. Caring for them, caring for ourselves and the games, too.
