As his former manager Maddon will certainly have an opinion on Carl Crawford and could be great for his career moving forward.
Maddon is probably a major plus in working with younger players and could be instrumental in working with Puig, Pedersen and a few others. May be a bullpen manager upgrade over DBB. Lots of intrigue coming.
No argument, just raising a possibility outside the box. However I read an article that 80% of teams might be willing to fire their manager to hire him.
No I mean 80% of other teams would now fire their managers if they could hire Maddon. He wants to explore opportunities and the quote was that about 80% of teams would fire their current manager to give him that opportunity
I don't buy that, many teams couldn't afford to eat the salary for firing their manager AND make Maddon the highest paid manager in baseball at over $5M annually.
Wow, this is huge. Still a little skeptical he'll come to LA given the FO's comments about DBB. But, given this, who knows...
Yeah, I have some skepticism as well. Maybe Maddon sits out a year waiting for the Dodgers to fire Mattingly. But if there's a shot at Maddon right now, you gotta take it.
