Don't really see the point in trading Haren, would have to replace him with someone likely on a multi-year deal, even if it was just someone on Haren's level.

 

me neither, unless they wanna get rid of some older guys and mix some younger faces into the clubhouse. Haren's fine as a #5. i'd like return that could contribute right away..shoot for the stars..fuck it..try to get Howie Kendrick. unlikely, but give it a whirl.

 

Don't be surprised if we make a play for Tomas. Landing him creates a lot of flexibility and aren't there thoughts out there about making him a third baseman?

 

i won't. and yep..supposedly he's got a decent glove @ 3B. might be a future replacement for Uribe, but for sure a left side/down the line guy in general. they're saying that his defense in LF is decent as well. he just turned 24yrs old today..would be a nice fit with our young core and fit with the long term picture payroll wise. if i were them i'd do it and couple it by going all in on Moncada too..why not? this new FO's MO is " value "..both Tomas and Moncada can be had on contracts that present extreme value.

don't know about Puig/Tomas. i know Moncada played for Cienfuegos like Puig did, but Moncada's much younger. well..4yrs younger than Puig

 

i'm tellin you..you have to want Andrew Miller just because you musn't allow him to get to STL or SF. i know that may seem weak, but Miller is pretty much a lock to shut it down in either the 7th or the 8th. would probably even become the Cards' closer.

hopefully they can send League along with Crawford and a lump sum of doe for Alexei. kill 2 birds with 1 stone there. take back Danks. nah, fuck Danks.

 

We have a lot of scouts and a lot of office folks with a ton of experience and connections who can pull off a ton of possible magic. We have how many former GM's with how much connection to other GM's and organizations? How many scouts and minor league directors who know how many other teams farm systems from the inside?
