I was wrong too, I figured they'd keep him at least until spring because in the words of Roseanne Rosannahdanna ...'ya never know'. But no one is about to give us anything for him. All they have to do is wait and pick him up for the MLB minimum.
They might. They can trade with us and be certain of getting him for cash or a lower level prospect or wait for him to become a FA and run the risk of competition and not getting him.
I think they should've seen him spring training 1st. This move seems kind of premature...but glad you all loved it so much.\I trust that the coaching staff/training staff/ and upper management know more than I about how Wilson might do so cool move I guess.
Feel bad that his career might be over. I saw an interview of him years ago when he was normal where he talked about his dad and I always had a soft spot for him. Wish him luck.
You are probably right as far as logic goes; it wouldn't have been that much to DFA him in March, after checking him out. But it needed to happen in a certain way, just like this. Thumbs down says Caesar. For effect, you know...
They had to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for their recent FA signings. Someone had to be DFA'd. I believe they have a short window to trade him, then he will clear waivers, and the Dodgers could potentially invite him to ST without a guaranteed spot on the team.
good stuff vrp after reading the posts seems only those who have been through something like this get it
Sucks that he lost his dad. But meh, he's making millions doing nothing, so I don't feel that bad for him.
I can't be mad that the only thing that matters is the best team and not money.I probably would have waited until the Spring, but he had lost it last year. I always kind of liked Wilson, the guy, so I wish him luck... maybe in the American League.
According to Vasseh ...who doesn't know anything about baseball but is well connected and traveled with the team...Brian Wilson was a big problem in positions the clubhouse. He would never hold himself accountable and would constantly blame others for his shortcomings. Also uncoachable.
