Sadly I think you're right. People will vote for him again cause the media has made him "hip" and made it "cool" to vote for him. I was astonished to see the black vote numbers what did he get 98% or something? So essentially more people voted for him because he was black, isn't that racism?

I do think I'm more moderate then your average liberal. but i dont know... I think I just dislike the republican candidates more then I dislike obama. isnt that sad?

 

OWS is in its infancy. Of course you will not get a unified answer as of yet, but this is to be expected. Why? Because of two things:

1) People are starting to become awake to the disgusting system around them and are beginning to gain clarity to the truth of things. A great number of people have clarity of this totality, but some are still not as clear as need to be, but that is to be expected as it is a process.
2) When the ENTIRE system is fucked, how can you really sum it up in one sentence? Even if you say something that clear, such as "I want to create a new world where peace, harmony, freedom (the true freedom, not the BS we call freedom...the kind where you kill people to be free) and justice prevail and where love is king", people will continue to ask about specifics.

This is not about taking sides, not about conservative or liberal, not about rich or poor, not about the west or the east, it is about awakening, becoming consciously aware of the truth and understanding our true role as human BEINGS.

The world is coming together to realize the draconian garbage that has been around them for the last several centuries and millennia. The idea has been given birth to. The seeds have been planted. The world has begun shifting.

 

Truth is a concept....and if your truth is different than my truth, then, of course you take sides. It's unavoidable.
The flowery words all sound good, and make good and uplifting "what if" reading...I agree. Like Lennon's "Imagine" But the harsh reality of it all was, is, and always will be, "your truth sucks...mine is the way".
The American Revolution has led to this very moment in our history...as did the Russian and the French and the whichever...because the masses had enough of the "Draconian" garbage way. And then they ran with their ball to what...where...another, eventually just as bad, in some cases worse, Draconian society, since we are using that word.
After the French Revolution, if someone used "monsieur" or "mademoiselle" instead of "citizen", which was the "truth" of the revolutionaries, they could , and many were, be guillotined.
And if the world does "shift", and it reaps the sown seeds as you wrote, what "truth" will it shift to? Because if it's not my truth, then , inevitably, I will have to take the other side...and therein lies the eternal rub.

 

I believe in absolute truths, so to me there is one truth in regards to an issue.

Best, I get what your saying but it's a little vague and idealistic for me. If the world needs to come together about anything it's the notion that people are greedy by nature. That pie in the sky everyone just needs love and peace is nonsense.

What system is entirely fucked up? The banking system? the US economic system? the monetary system? The system of hard work?

I also think the OWS movement is DOA, if it weren't for the unions and liberal groups they wouldn't have lasted as long as they have. They have had MONTHS to put together a cohesive argument that is practical and would solve what they conceive as a problem. Instead they put out some truly moronic demands early on, forgive all debt worldwide? Yeah these people are playing with a full deck.

What they should be doing is trying to beat the system they think is evil by coming up with a new and better system to put the other out of business, you cannot win anything by camping out in a park, doing drugs, having sex in boxes, and sounding like idiots in the media.

Beat the system on its own terms or STFU and get a job.

The system is absolutely fucked in every way. It is built to create greed, separation, scarcity, fear, hate, chaos and jealousy. There is no way you can tell me humans are naturally greedy, that is absurd, sorry... Anyways, why shouldn't the world be free and harmonious? Have we been that programmed where we can't even imagine anymore? Well, I for sure am not and I'm not ready to have the world be the way it is. I will take a stand, find and stand for truths….change myself on the inside and create what I want, always from the inside out, not the other way around.

 

Let's say I worship Jesus...and I am devout Christian...and the guy across the street says Allah is the way to go...all truths lie within those religions for each one, seperately. But each is willing to kill the other because his "truth says to do so- the other is an infidel" Whose "truth" is the truth then? I know what is absoute for me...and what is absolute for the other guy, too...but down on the street, it interprets to war, death, destruction, and terrorism. religion is a brital example i admit; but it's been with us since civilization practically began.
This is all I'm saying. I'm not arguing that you shouldn't be firm in your truths you believe in...but overall, simply, that is the problem. The unwillingness to recognize the possibility or existence of another truth, just as valid and as powerful as yours is. It it will never meet in the middle...never has...never will. That just does not exist. The world is too small for that to work like it maybe did for a while some time ago. No more.
You could argue that the lack of compromise from individual unwillingness to moderate these truths, is absolutely greed of sorts.
It's not absurd...only absurd to deny it's existence, IMO. Greed can take many forms. and examples of it wearing a mask of something else are all over our lives, every day.

 

BZ, the "truths" you are saying are not in fact truths, rather they are beliefs or opinions. There is only one truth and it is absolute with ZERO subjection in it, period.

There is only ONE truth!!!!!!!!!!!! The rest are beliefs and opinions, totally subjective.

 

Maybe this is a better example of what the truth is for one, but not for another. IDK.
To say that religion is not the "truth" for millions who follow it day by day, year by year, teach it to their children and proselytize to others, bring it into the ICU and supposedly beyond, is laughable. It's inescapably the truth for so many...not mine, but for so many--it's their absolute truth.
Name a truth that someone else, somewhere, doesn't think is just an opinion...or who doesn't have an alternate to.
