I was down on A-Gon early not afraid to admit it. It had alot to do with the fact that he isn't a spring chicken anymore but I also picked him in a season long HR derby contest lol. As for the Red dream I was in his corner the entire season.
Great News Everybody! Now the FO has a reason/excuse to say "I guess we have to call up Yasiel Puig".
not biased optimistic felt the same way about agon and now he's hot but i don't need an image the name redDICK speaks for itself
see proof right there it took you this long to say something about red dick and it wasnt even a classic irish picture biased! if it was puig we would have gotten some oinks
i'll get right on it... the second reddick gets arrested for speeding, gets into a nightclub altercation and acts like a douche
Because he and Hill should be patched up and ready to contribute very well come September and into the playoffs so we can win a WS and the not care two shits about how they did before that.
If it was Puig the FO would be on his case for not having the work ethic to learn how to properly close doors. Or for not having the maturity to patiently close the door before trying to take a bite out of his sammich. Or for not just eating the kale smoothie the team dietitian prescribed for his injured hamstrings.
That nighclub altercation was bullshit, you know that too. As always it was reported later that the media had it all wrong originally. Why do you always remember the initial headline and not the correction and retraction. You are from here its not like you are some Boston reporter. So you dont speed? We have nice convos about Darth speeding in his Ferrari and he isnt a douche for it... right?
Absolutely correct. And "IF" he were a douche for speeding (more than I could in any of my vehicles) then at least he's a pleasant smelling sort of Summer's Eve type of douche. Man I just know that's gonna be misconstrued
Folks might reply that Darth doesnt get caught and Puig did. I would reply... Darth isnt young and black.
And WTF do we have a Reddick thread? Miserable miscreant is pissing away AB's hitting .149 or some such 'less than AJ Ellis' amount
Nor was he doing it in downtown LA with a car full of relatives. If a white guy did that, they'd look the other way as soon as they made him as caucasian? Now I'm not saying the guy doesn't get picked on, but much of his behavior is ( or was, initially)undeniably over the top, and impossible not to notice. Imo, he likes the attention, negative or not. Can team mate wishes that he be gone not be noticed, also? Like Ali said " half the people come because they love me, the other half comes because they hate me...personally, I don't care...long as they keep coming". It strikes me though, that you have become the antithesis of b2b, (considering his raging hate for him), and will defend him 'till the end, no matter what he does. Whenever that end is. Personally, letting him stew in OKC, making confusing statements about him is not only stupid, it's classless. So un genius- like. I would think he deserves another shot, but Idk if they chance messing up the mojo.
I only defend when people make confusing statements that are not only stupid but classless and ungenius-like. And the fact that sanctimonious pro sports teams doing the hypocritical 'character issues' dance chaps my hide. Puig probably just pissed off the wrong dude in the Org, probably an owner.
Guarantee you it was more than one "dude." He's apparently burned bridges with two so-called players' managers in Roberts and Mattingly.
Yeah, probably right. The Dodger tradition...can't have that kind of behavior...or a Chapman on the team because of the high bar...lol. I'm reading a book called "Bums" about the O'Malley run team leading up to the LA move. It is basically an oral history, with hundreds of statements by the players and people in and around the team about each season and all the series. I have to say much of what I thought and believed about those teams and players, was totally torn asunder...O'Malley was a cheap, conniving egomaniac, and was not liked by players and staff alike. Alston was a Robinson-hating manager who used intimidation as a method for team control, and Carl Furillo, only having a grade school education, never got close to anyone on the team from feelings of inadequacy. Tip of the iceberg... Point being, what we think we know very often is very far from the way it really is.
I agree with your smilie. I read the book every night, and when I put it down, I couldn't believe how different it all was than what I thought and believed. Top to bottom. Shocking, actually. It absolutely was sad. We get Vinny's versions of those days , but everybody liked Vin and vice versa...but the day to day action in the dugout was far from Vin's utopia.
