If there wasn't a proliferation of inter-league play you can't use the adjusting to new league thing to a point but I'm just guessing it's a slump at the wrong time. When you are trying to make a good first impression however it doesn't look great and of course the Hill shit is just a disaster. It's an old adage but you cannot judge a trade until some time has passed.

I was against getting Hill before it ever happened, but not because of the blister thing. You never want to trade for a guy that is having a career year at age 36. It's just not smart. That said, the prize was Reddick, not Hill, and he is clearly pressing.

His slash in 9 games with the dodgers is .111 .158 .111
His slash in the previous 30 games is .207 .254 .333
He has been 'pressing/struggling/slumping/hurt' for at least a month now.
He was out all of June with an injury.
Half of July he was good and half he was bad.
May he was great but also only played about 2 thirds of the month due to injury.
    April he was just ok.
So he has been up and down all year. Sometimes playing great, other times sucking balls, and sometimes just being adequate at .260 ish.
Because he is battling knee strains and a broken hand.

But he's not a 36 year old starting pitcher...so he has that going for him.

Don't mean to bag the guy, he seems nice enough. But pretty sure he's misplayed more balls in right than he has hits.

So one misplay? I'd say that's gold glove caliber.

He is injured. I know yall dont want to believe it.
His knees his hand his neck his back.
The dude is a good player but is weak physically and is always nursing small but nagging injuries.
Maybe he needs to have a better work ethic and get into the weight room. Probably needs a healthier eating regiment.

i've been in reddick's corner since day one
and i still [want to] believe he'll get hot and help us down the stretch and in the post
but even i have grown impatient
would a rf platoon of toles/segedin be better than having josh out there [nearly] every day?
roberts would never do it, especially going into such an important series
    and i'll tell you what...
    i think that'll be okay
i remember most being down on turner and agon early
but doc kept putting them out there and they eventually figured it out
relatively sure he'll do the same with reddick
just hope he isn't this year's mike davis
although if the end result is the same...

    You are biased.

When it rains it pours for Josh who I can't help but call him JJ. Maybe he gets well against a guy who he is 2 - 3 against career MadBum :D. If Kike doesn't get the start tomorrow in CF I'll be furious!!!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember another guy that got traded to the Dodgers and took forever to heat up. Everyone on another board was on his ass like white on rice (racist, I know) but he eventually got started and by the next season was being hailed as a hero. Some Mexican dude (yeah, racist), Gonzales or something like that.
