    and once again...
    • NL Player of the week goes to Dodgers OF/1B Cody Bellinger, who led all MLB players in home runs, RBI and total bases (28) last week, helping Los Angeles sweep the Mets and Rockies.

A lot of complaining about LAD and " the future " over the last few years
With this fella and Seager, " the future " came along pretty quick, now, didn't it :D

It's Dylan Hernandez and the LA Times, so fwiw (nothing)...

    http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-angels-dodgers-hernandez-20170626-story.html

More than half of the regular season has yet to be played and it doesn’t feel premature to declare this is the year.

This is the year the Dodgers can return to the World Series. Actually, no. That isn’t strong enough.

This is the year the Dodgers should return to the World Series.

They are the clear class of the National League. They entered their Freeway Series opener Monday on a 10-game winning streak. They should win the National League West by a comfortable margin.

Clayton Kershaw and Alex Wood in their playoff rotation?

    Go get him.

The shutdown late-inning reliever who could set up for closer Kenley Jansen?

    Go get him.

The right-handed power hitter who could solidify the outfield?

    Go get him.

(link for rest of the article is up top)

couldn't agree more w a couple of caveats
i think morrow can be that setup guy w baez and or a guy like ryu esp in the playoffs
would love the big bat and that should be attainable
an all star caliber RH would be great but thats not quite as easy to come by
oh and lets not start sucking each others dicks just yet
but yeah this is the year

If we can get a Darvish-type SP or a JD Martinez type bat, Joc is a big league piece I'd be willing to part with.

Joc is a good player. He did a 132 wRC+ last season and he's at 110 right now before hitting his stride. His OBP last year was over .350 and he slugged nearly .500. If he could put it all together, he could be a 5-6 win CFer. My concern is, by the time he does put it all together offensively, he will be a LFer.

Verdugo is knocking on the door and may be more valuable because he brings elite bat to ball skills, which is a contrast from the redundant Joc/Grandal types, who are incredibly valuable over the course of a season but can drag an offense down because they're streaky, high K%, low volume hitters, and can only hit righties for the most part. Much like Bellinger, Verdugo also hits both lefties and righties.

If the Dodgers believe in Verdugo, Bellinger, Taylor, etc, it may be time to move Joc. He's a good 24 year old player that teams would be interested in.

Great that most think that way...maybe this time, finally, the "positive vibes"will actually mean something, unlike the last decade or so or three. Sure would love to see all that" future" bullshit come to fruition just one time, as it was supposed to with Clayton, Yasiel, Joc and Julio and Trayce and the list is quite long...or is it still in the future? As it was when they all failed get us there when they came up?
Probably insignificant was last night's shutout loss...but it also sends a slight shiver because this team can be a powerful juggernaut, obviously, then turn around and be a huge zero and be shut down fucking completely by a real low level pitcher. A guy barely hanging on to his career...food for thought.
    Or maybe it means nothing.

    HR #450 for Beltre.

Good for him and fuck the Dodgers for letting him get away.

If I ever come across DePodesta, I'd punch him square in the face. He's lucky I have no idea what he looks like. A lot of people bag on colletti for being a bad GM but no one was worse than DePodesta

Before my Dodger time, but Tommy didn't exactly set the GM world on fire.
