Just a reminder, the game is at 5 tonight. 5 - also the number of times Granderson struck out yesterday... in 4 ABs. 1 - the number of hits Granderson has in the playoffs, in 15 ABs. 0 - the number of walks from Granderson. .133 - Granderson's OPS in the playoffs (for reference, Yu Darvish has an OPS of .200). I looked into the rules for DFAing a player from the playoff roster, and I don't think we can do that. But we are in Chicago, so I was thinking of the mafia history in the city... maybe we can't DFA him, but maybe he can "disappear"?

hilarious just discovered jerry hairston is following me on twitter either he's got a good sense of humor or doesn't get it lol
a legitimate concern for sure but it doesn't excuse his pre-injury postseason failures he needs to go out there tonight and get it done
So he was playing to lose is what you are saying. That he wanted to lose? Please explain your logic? Looks like he saved most of his big bullets to use in this coming game instead of splitting them between the two. If Wood throws a gem then great, but the team was not going to give him a bunch of support. They are keeping the support for Kershaw. They are creating a moment in time that will create momentum and chemistry to carry them not just past the Cubs but more importantly the AL representative in the WS. I know this is difficult for people who watch sports to sometimes understand but what if the Manager and the FO are just a tad few steps ahead of us and actually know more? Because we all know that if Kershaw can exercise his demons and flush all of this toxic early career postseason bad luck and then bad results from being overused and badly used by the organization creating a special moment for him to essentially get his mojo working again then it would be very very worth it. On top of that bad luck Kershaw has battled injuries that have made him have to alter his mechanics which he is trying to adjust to in order to be super elite again instead of being just very fucking good like he still is. But right now he has a golden opportunity to be super elite Kershaw on the big stage. And this organization is all about giving people opportunities to grow and become something more than they are or to get back to where they once belonged. Now get back jojo!
Taylor CF Turner 3B Bellinger 1B Puig RF Forsythe 2B Hernández LF Barnes C Culberson SS Kershaw P lets go
Would've preferred Taylor Barnes Turner Bellinger Puig Forsythe Hernandez Culberson But I get trying to get JT as many ABs as possible.
I wonder how much room there is for Granderson, Utley and Ethier to "grow"?. It's not that difficult for any situation and after it's over spin it into an Aesop fable...especially when one is a devotee and avid enthusiast of the divine perfection of the management. For all we know, the FO could be like wtf Dave? One day, if Granderson actually gets a hit we need, it will be as if a block of solid marble was sculpted into the Pieta, and as if Dave was waiting for the proper moment to unveil his masterpiece. And if all the assembled multitude that is waiting to pounce on Kershaw gets the chance at stating their mendacity towards him this night, what will have been the plan in place then? I know, I think! They were waiting to win it in LA? Pretty good? Or no?
O/U a third of this forum goes chicken little after the first sign of Kershaw not being Don Drysdale.
