We were actually rewarded with Grandal behind the plate last night, but still a bit worried with where his bat and head may be. I am dumbfounded that Roberts is insisting on Chase who looks absolutely lost at the dish right now, while Forythe has been putting together good AB's AND making decent contact against RHP. He has been IBB'd as many times as he has struck out this postseason and this is paired with a really good final two weeks of the season. This is one of those instances where Dave needs to ride the hot hand until it lets him down as Chase is DONE. Speaking of done, I never want to see Curtis Granderson in a Dodgers uniform again. What a fucking abysmal god damned trainwreck he has become. Doc cited his good numbers against Arrieta for why he was starting, but just ignored the fact that this new iteration of Arrieta has demolished Granderson in recent years. Play Joc against RHP and Hernandez against the LHP and I would argue that sending Granderson down the river before tonights game would be the best decision for the team. A fucking relief pitcher put together more good AB's last night than Granderson did.
Maddon coached last game to win that particular game. Dave coached to win the NLCS and World Series. I know this sounds sacrilegious but its sometimes a good idea to punt a game. Especially if its the game with your softest starter and your have your ace coming up.
An ace who rarely, if ever, pitches like an ace in the post season. Always play to win and worry how the next series lines up when you are in the next series. Lose tonight and all the pressure is on us
Gonna go out on a limb and say that the man responsible for the stolen base that started one of the, if not the greatest postseason comebacks in history should be punting games to the reigning champs, even with his ace on the bump the next game. Maddon blew one pitcher for tonight’s game and that’s it. With an off day tomorrow he can again use every pitcher not named Arrieta or Davis on the roster. If Roberts truly was playing for the series last night, he did a really bad job maneuvering it.
NOPE! I haven't forgotten that abysmal streak of games put upon us by Dave and the FUCKTARDS "Cuteness", when they insisted upon playing all the geezers and doing all the experimenting to get ready for now. It IS now! We had a close out game against the same team that came back to beat us and then came from even further back to win the WS last year. Letting off the gas is fucking SUICIDE! It's like they learned NOTHING from September. Look a the Yankees, playing all their young talent. Hell, look at our own record when we did the same thing. PAGING CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!
I don't want to see Kershaw living in the strike zone tonight. Cubs have no Wade Davis tonight..they're going to be looking to ambush Kershaw and to put a big number up on him to make up for the fact that their best reliever is shelved. If Kershaw has to walk some MFs and maneuver, so be it. 100-110 pitches over 5 or 6 innings..be willing to use them all.
great post totally agree especially seeing pitches everyone on mlb network (whether they like us or hate us) was saying how impressed they were with our guys being patient, disciplined and wearing down the cubs starters in an earlier post i said barnes should start every game the rest of the post same now applies to logan and imo culberson should be in there too, at the very least against lhp
yes and we all would have signed up for 3-2 heading back to dodger stadium but if the cubs win today they have all the momentum/confidence roberts needs to quit fucking around we need to finish this now
Ned Colletti Tonight @ClaytonKersh22 finds himself in a position he has never been in before - the chance to pitch the @dodgers to the NL Pennant. 11:25 AM · Oct 19, 2017 from Manhattan Beach, CA Manhattan Beach lol. Would be a great moment for Clayton and the franchise to have him pitch us into the World Series.
Every sports media personality and hockey player seems to live there. Just imagining Ned roaming the streets makes me laugh
LOL Worthy joined my buddy's cigar lounge and goes there all the time. I think I'll go meet him and have a Cuban. I hate waiting for gametime anyway!
Laughable to even suggest that Dave was playing to win the NLCS..!folly. You send a guy out there who hasn't pitched in over three weeks limping wifh his velocity, with that lineup behind him? Playing to win? More the opposite... If that game, with it's abominable management pulsating like a sore thumb, gets these scumbags hitting again, I can just hear and imagine where the blame will fall. Wake the fuck up.
I feel like Clayton is injured and his mechanics are off. That's what worries me. Not the mental stuff.
Yup, you can’t ignore the numbers pre and post injury. He’s been worse across the board after the injury.
