Kershaw-Hill-Wood-Ryu-Maeda doesn’t cut it. At all.

Darvish is a good pitcher, with the best pure stuff on the market by far. If anything, it makes more sense to re-sign him right after he bombed because his price is going to be drastically lower than if he’d been successful.

“His WS performance” isn’t a good reason to shun a quality pitcher. The variable that directly lead to that (tipping) is an easy fix, although I admit I don’t know how they fucked it up last year when it was a known issue.

 

Good point, they don't have much to lose. But I don't really see what they have to gain more than the gimmick.

 

I was just going to post this. I love Stanton for stringing them along for as long as he did, only to crush their hopes!

Respectfully disagree. His WS performance was otherworldly bad. We probably win the WS if he's not on the roster. And tipping pitches at 30 years old is a concern. If he was 20 I'd agree it's a simple fix, but he's 30.

100% honest, I'd rather sign Brett Anderson.

 

At this point, striking out on Ohtani, getting Stanton is probably going to be the coup of the off season.

I say don't play too coy. We can probably do a deal with 2nd level prospects and taking 1/2 the contract.....maybe even 1/3 the contract.

If Stanton is the real deal, he may put us in a position to out offense our post season pitching woes. Remember we were a run or two from winning the whole thing.

If we can get Darvish for a discount or promote some of our minor leaguers, we might be good.

There are very few perfect teams.

 

Darvish is a top 15 starter in baseball. Stanton is better and if he cost the same price or close to it I’d agree. Just think I’d rather have Darvish at 5/110 then Stanton at 10/295 plus prospects.

Yankees getting Stanton would ruin my life. That might be the one scenario that makes me ok with getting him

 

Kersh was tipping his pitches at one time in his career younger yes but that is so correctable it's infantile they just so happen not to catch it at a horrible horrible time. Price MUST be right which makes me 50/50 on the idea but I'm not going to blame him for our loss solely when there was enough blame to go around.

 

He pitched more innings than ever last year and with his funky delivery who knows if he can repeat this year or avoid injury.

 

Yankees are closing in on a deal for Stanton....
