If the Dodgers could acquire one player at the deadline, who would you prefer?

  1. Machado

    43.5%
  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

    56.5%

    • 12:08am: Michael Duarte of NBC Sports L.A. tweets that right-handed pitching prospect Dustin May, long reported to be a target of the O’s, is expected to change hands in the deal. Double-A infielder/outfielder Errol Robinson is also believed to be included, per Duarte.

Barring a strong finish and a big postseason, I don't think Kershaw is opting-out. If he does, i'd let him walk before signing him for another 5 years at $35M+.

Even if he goes back on the DL, someone else would offer him more than the 70MM he's due. It'd take more years but at the end of the day he and Jesus would have more dough to drop out of a helicopter to the starving little black kids in Africa.

Not getting Stanton, Seager getting hurt, losing bad the first quarter of the season... all worth it if the plan from the Nerds was to grab this guy and go all in during the season when teams are desperate to trade and there are less teams in it to win meaning less competition in the trade market.

The Nerds had a plan all along.

    2B: Muncy
    SS: Machado
    3B: Turner
    LF: Kemp
    1B: Bellinger
    C : Grandal/Smith
    CF: Joc/Taylor
    RF: Puig/Kike
    DH: Seager!

Now they just need to grab DeGrom and force some of our starters to help the pen in the playoffs.

    and heyman just refuted it...
    • “seeing speculation top rhp pitching prospect dustin may may be in the machado deal. but I have heard the dodgers rejected that request early on. they wanted to keep both may and ss gavin lux. can think of no reason why that would change. diaz is the centerpiece for o's.”

and Grandal. I know people automatically assume oh he's gone because of Barnes, and Ruiz and Smith coming up but the FO can not at all be comfortable with that catching situation going into next year.

Hopefully, this is the case. Don't like the thought of May going

Late last year Barnes was all but crowned Grandal's successor.

He's fallen off the earth this year.

I think when Strip got them out the inning before, Dave pushed his luck with sending him out there for the next one. He had pitchers to use...would have been a good time for Greinke maybe. Didn't think, especially in light of the strategic cleverness he was given credit for for his lineup, that he managed it all that well.
Doesn't really matter in there long run one iota, imo.
Only if it is an indicator of Roberts things to come, and the effect it had on Strip, if any.

I know "going ham" to be when Muslim people become disillusioned with their faith, and start eating pork.
Sort of like when Catholics become dictators and start wars.

Given that Heyman and Sherman refuted this, Duarte is a damn clown. He’s also the one that earlier this year made it seem like Braun for Kemp was a done deal

Short term successor. LAD was still looking towards Smith and Ruiz long term
Smith hasn't done anything to change their views on him

Listening to Buster Olney's daily ESPN podcast, and he said they are making jerseys and all of the associated stuff already, now this could be in jest, but their was no laughter following it, so it didn't seem like a joke.

Angelos has to be sitting back, thinking.." you know, what if I pulled out of this deal right now? " Lol
He definitely has ultimate leverage right now, if he chooses to use it, thanks to all these early reports and all the expectations running wild at this point. Prime Angelos probably wouldn't be able to resist, but he's late life Al Davis at this point. He might just roll over and let the trade live

It is being reported that the clubs came to an agreement yesterday and that MLB forbid them from announcing it. I swear, if something kills the deal that wouldn't have a day ago...
