If the Dodgers could acquire one player at the deadline, who would you prefer?

  1. Machado

    43.5%
  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

    56.5%

Pretty sure between now and when that SVS stuff was reported back then, the FO actually hit Puig with the " traded or demoted " threat. Can't remember if that was before or after MLB was investigating him for DV. I haven't heard anything since they demoted him, other than getting benched late last year, but that wasn't alienating the clubhouse. At least I don't think it was.

I don't know when the best time to trade Puig is. He had a big comeback year last year, they shopped him in the offseason and came up with nothing. They tried to move him the other time, when they demoted him, came up with nothing. There's seemingly no right time and now his team control is dwindling, so if they have indeed floated him out there for Britton, maybe that's a sign? Personally, I think he stays and just hopefully Machado can be a positive influence on him and get him back to being a solid everyday play. But if they somehow finally find a trade for him, so be it. Especially if they get a good reliever. But it will be somewhat of an indictment if all they get is a reliever, good or not.

Sure last year there was a strong desire to trade Yasiel if for any other reason for PR sake with the cloud over him but he showed this year more mature and disciplined at the plate. He was our hottest hitter since coming off of the DL this year and is still reasonably priced. The only way you trade Yasiel IMO is to move salary and the available relievers other than Britton aren't highly paid. By the way Britton is walking guys well over his career average and falling behind consistently but the velocity is up.

Damn shame. Seems like we'll never see great Justin Turner again. Maybe the most we can hope for is that he gets hot in October again.

Wonder if Ruiz is taking a hard look at Turner's spot since Willie Smith is looking like Johnny Bench down in AA

And now we know why Bellinger could not take a slap to the chest.
    Kind of an overcoddled pussy.
As an adult I learned how some people disliked me when I was a teenager (and even in my 20's) I had a habit of slapping people really hard in the back. That grew into the need to poke people in the stomach like they do the Pillsbury dough boy. I can't help that one. I do it all the time.
I was heavy handed and a certain type of dude could not stand me.
But their girlfriends thought I was a barrel of laughs.
    So it worked out.

I've seen some of the other guys that are out there as well. Seems like Britton is the hottest at the moment

    Our best hitters Vs righties...

    Manny: .328 .405 .596 1.002
    Maxxy: .260 .398 .599 .997
    Jocky: .281 .374 .591 .966
    Puigy: .293 .344 .521 .865
    Matty: .319 .356 .488 .843
    Coldy: .252 .326 .492 .818

Even Cody is hitting decently enough with that .818 OPB but OPB is not everything.

Why not put MM as cleanup? Not in the lineup? I think they eat this team is hitting Manny and Kemp should be switching as 3-4 hitters.

Aaron Nola is no ordinary pitcher. Staff ace and undefeated at home in 9 starts 8 - 0, ERA is 1,71 and WHIP of 0.95.

I still don’t get why Baez is always in the mix.

I’d rather see a rookie get his chances.

It's his raw stuff.... it's all it is. I think keeping him around is the dumbest thing this FO has ever done. The guy gets booed at home and he shows that it bothers him, get him the fuck outta there.

I meant about trading Puig for a reliever.
He is an important part of the offense and has been consistent for a while now vs righties.

    I'm so cornfused!!! Ok.

So much for finding out if Koehler can be a reliever. Out for the year now. Petey and Yasiel to begin rehab assignments. Ryu as well, roster decisions are going to be interesting.
