Sad to see the Vietnamese catfish, likely, on his way out. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/02/mariners-looking-closely-at-hong-chih-kuo.html
Smart move by Kuo signing with the Mariners. In that cavernous ballpark he will put up all star numbers and get himself a hefty payday if he stays healthy. Thanks for the memories!
And the only LH is Elbert...so this guy will be used up like a whorehouse washrag by the time Sept rolls around. Ned is sad in his choices. He creates weaknesses with his choices, and any opposing manager worth his salt knows how to manipulate his lineup around that.
So much for the idea of Billy Beane coming to GM in LA: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/02/athletics-extend-beane-through-2019.html
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/02/white-sox-to-sign-kosuke-fukudome.html Essentially the same player stats-wise as Rivera but we paid $3M more for Rivera. Thanks Ned!!!!
The Yankees signed Raul Ibanez to a 1-year deal for $1.1M. Reason number 3,568 Ned should be fired, he signed Juan Rivera for 1-year and $4.5M. Reason number 3,569 Ned should be fired, Sands would put up better numbers than Rivera for 1/10th of the salary. Reason number 3,570 Ned should be fired, Ibanez>Rivera and costs 1/4th the money. Fuck you Ned.
Man I can't believe that Manny and Ibanez signed for a COMBINED TOTAL of $1.6M on one year deals, Manny's coming via a minor league deal. If someone would tell you that prior to the the 2009 season you would've laughed in their face. If someone would've told me could've had both of them for 1/3rd of the price of Rivera I would've not believed it. Again, thanks Ned.
A's are seriously stacked in OF/DH/1B and that was without Manny not all good players, dont get me wrong. but a lot of options for them
Josh Hamilton intends to become a FA after this season. Cole and Hamilton this offseason? I think yes. Not trying to overpay for Hamilton though.
Mike Stanton is going to go by Giancarlo Stanton now it's his real first name. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120229&content_id=26916438&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb
